According to the book i've read,(im sorry i forgot the name and author of the book) their are 10 secret of becoming rich. 1. Learn the value of time by understanding its importance. 2. Set lifelong goals that include major decision in your life. 3. Stay out of debt: barrow money wisely. 4. Learn to accept failure successfully. 5. Develop winning attitudes and habits. 6. Stay focused by keeping everything in mind your goals. 7. Work only with the right kind of people. 8. Develop self-dicipline by sticking to your dicisions. 9. Develop faith by depending on a higher power. 10.Make happiness- not wealth- your untimate goal. How can you apply these secrets? Set a goals based on them and commit yourself to follow these goals faithfully. Happy mylotting.

Thanks for the post. They are sensible pieces of advice. I believe that money is just a by-product. I believe that if we want to be rich, we must become a person of value. I came across this quote somewhere: "If you want gold, you must first be golden." We must strive for both personal and career excellence, which is what I am aiming for right now.

I do not want to be rich, a whole new kind of stress and hassles. Not for me. I just want to be comfortable and happy and not have to stress over having enough money to pay all the bills. I would like to be able to afford a nice family vacation once a year to get away from the mainstream. That is not wanting to be rich, just comfortable.

Well I guess a lot of people dream or want to become rich, and I'm no exception to this. Honestly, my husband and I both have separate jobs but we're still finding it hard to make ends meet. We do have one daughter for a child and less than a year from now, she is going to attend school already but I fear that we can't afford sending her to an exclusive or private school. And my answer to your query; it's quite natural for me or my situation to at least daydream and wish that we do have a lot of money. In fact, I'm dreaming that one day, we'll be awakened by a surprising positive news that we won at least ten million pesos (or approximately two hundred thousand dollars) in the local lottery draw. If this finally comes true, a lot of my aspirations for my own family will be realized. On top of the list is for us to be able to purchase a parcel of land where our own house will be built. Also, we are going to buy several hectares of land to be utilized for plantation of various types of fruits and vegetables. Aside from this, we will normally give a portion of our winnings to my parents and to my in-laws, too. And for this, I'm so thankful that finally, we will be able to put up a small but lucrative and lawful family business which hopefully, we will be successful enough to make it grow and eventually become a heirloom for our offsprings. Like you, I also aspire to give and help the needy and less fortunate fellowmen. In fact, I plan to put up a business wherein I would be hiring undergraduates or out-of-school youth to be my employees in the firm, giving them a steady income and benefits; along with 'teaching them how to fish', just as the Holy Bible says. Anyway, I'll try to keep in mind these pointers you included here.

In my opinion the sum up of these are having decipline and focus to our goal with the highest trust and belief to our no.1 Big Boss. Going straight to our plan with always consulting God if He really allowed those things. As for me, it is okay to become rich and it is permissible by God for it is the result of our hard work. Applying all those ten written in your post, it is in ourselves on how to do it correctly and easy. Just be honest to ourselves and to others as doing things in order to become rich not only here on earth but also to heaven.

Those advice sound good but i think a little too perfect. For one you don't always get to choose who you work with and second they're expecting perfect personality. I'm not looking to get rich but rather to be content with the job i'm doing and be successful in the long run. As long as the salary is adequate to keep me comfortable I think I would be satisfied.

I am not a big goal setter. I know what I want to do and have and do what I can to achieve those things. I think it is hard to have all of these listed things fall into place on a continuous basis for most people. But I absolutely agree with #10. If you go after something that you enjoy and are comfortable with, that increases your chances of achieving these things immensely!

Same here quinnkl, no.10 is still the best secret of all mention above. Without happiness even you are rich, life has no meaning at all, for you are already slave by money and money becomes your God. You can never be happy in life. Thanks for responding friend.

Now that's a nice tip. I will surely follow it each day and make sure that I find happiness. Also, money is secondary. One should have respect in the society to survive properly. I think that respect is more important than money and one should always try to gain respect than money. bourne

Yeah you are right insulin, Wealth is responsibility, if you have plenty of them you have a bigger responsiblity and bigger problem too if you dont handle it well. But think it on other way around, if you have plenty of wealth you can help more and you can create happiness too. The no. ten shoul be our main goal, to be happy not rich but unhappy.

I believe that these are wonderful rules to live by. I am not a person that needs or wants lots of money. Material things do not provide happiness to me. I am perfectly happy with my health, my family, and my life as it is. I feel very rich with just those things. Yes, money is required in our lives, but if it isn't a necessity I am really not interested in it for the most part. I am happy just having a house to live in, family that loves me, and good friends. Everything else is just a bonus for me.

Thanks margarit for the wonderful advice. I want to be rich. I think that that's the only way I can help less fortunate people, not that I'm not helping them now. There is one thing that is not mentioned. To give. It's important to give, in order to receive more. All the best to you and me!

Hmm, self-control is very important. Don't fall into the trap of temptation. For example, you want to buy this new mobile phone which costs 2k. Is it better for you to buy something which depreciates with time (and after few years worth nothing), or you rather save it up for investment? Assets vs Liabilities. This is something which I've always mentioned to people around me.

I think self-control belongs to no. 5 and no 8, if you have all those positive attitude, it would very easy for you to reach your goal of becoming one. and about investment belong to no.2 i guess. thanks for responding.
