Firewall Settings

Hi there, I use Kaspersky Internet Security system on my computer. About 3 months ago I tried to set up a web site using a web hosting company based in the UK (I do not live in the UK). From the outset I have been unable to access the file manager within the control panel and the hosting company have advised it could be to do with my firewall settings. I have proved that the file manager does work as I tried accessing it on a different computer whilst I was in the UK a couple of weeks ago and I had no problems. When I got back home and using my own computer I was in the same position. Does anyone know if there is likely to be anything within my firewall settins that would prevent access to the file manager? Or is there likely to be anything else that might be causing the problem. I use a non-UK ISP if this has any bearing on the matter. Any help would be most appreciated. Many thanks.
