to all you readers out there, what are you reading right now? currently i am reading the autobiography of Richard Branson. for those of you who dont know who he is, he is the creater of Virgin Records, Virgin Mobile, Virgin in Space and so forth. my brother and my dad read it first and thought it was a very inspiring book so i checked it out. its about 600 pages or so but from THE first page you're already sucked in LOL the way he wrote it is like hes actually talking to you in person, very interesting book, amazing stories and its one of those rags to riches stories.

I really liked the Twilight series. It has given me something to talk to my teenage daughter about. We have really lively conversations about the characters. The movie for Twilight comes out on November 21st, 2008. There is another series out there that is very similar. It's called 'A House Of Night Novel' written by P.C. Cast + Kristin Cast. They are a mother daughter writting team. I have already finished all 4 books. The next one comes out in March of 09. My daughter said she may read it next so we have more to talk about.

thats nice that books can bring people together through discussing the characters and plot scenarios!! my dad and i have that, we recommend books to each other and talk about them if we've read the same book :)

Well, I was reading through The literary allusions of the suburbium of Rome and their social implications and now I'm looking at a bunch writing from Catullus only because they mentioned Catullus 44 as a reference and so I being the curious sort looked it up and yeah. Thats whats happening.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've several books going. Who The Hell is Pansy O'Hara is a hilarious book about authors and little-known facts about well-known books like Gone With the Wind and The Cat in the Hat. Also reading Secret Lives of Great Authors. It's along the same vein as the first book. I used to write an American Fiction Authors column where I researched similar topics. Too bad someone beat me to publishing books on them. I'm also reading Money and the Law of Attraction. Right now night reading any fiction, which is unusual for me.

Katrinka! You wrote right now I am not reading any fiction. That is my position most of the time. I read fiction by recommendation. The non-fiction books I pick up by myself.Nice to know you are the exact opposite of me, and you rcurrent position is the opposite of your usual self.

I have just finished reading Suze Orman's 9 Steps to Financial Freedom. This is teh kind of book I would read more than once, but since it is a library book, I have to return it soon. I find so many great advice from her books. I intend to read all her books, if I could find them at the library. It has set me thinking about my finances, or lack of it. Many succesful books are written in this kind of conversational style, like they are really talking to you. Rags to richs stories are always popular too.

At the moment I am reading Wideacre, a Philippa Greggory book. It is OK, but not as good as some of the other books from her that I have read. It is pretty weird, it is one of three so I am not sure how the others are going to be when I have finished this one.

I guess it is a historical or period fiction, it is pretty sick actually as it involves incest and an obsession with a property, I think the main female character seriously has something wrong with her!

I'm reading a novel about the life of elizabeth the first, i'm really into that time period so i'm really enjoying it! I already know the story but nice to hear it from a different perspective! I don't often read autobiographies, although it sounds as though richard branson's is quite good! I read russell bradn's autobiography a while ago, i liked that, it was written just the way he speaks and you could imagine him sitting there telling you the story - which is a nice thought! lol xxx

yeah i think you have to be into the person to find a biography interesting otherwise it's just boring!! i heard that richard madely (richard and judy fella!) has just bought an autobiography out and i remember thinking "who cares!??!" that definitely one that i won't be reading! it is really good book, the author has written it as though elizabeth is writing it herself in the first person which is a bit different! xxx

Right now I'm reading 'The Waste Lands' by Stephen King. It's the third installment of the Dark Tower series. I've tried to read this series for years but I could never get into it so I finally just made myself plow through the first one. After I got past that one I started to really get into the series. I would definitely recommend it!

I am currently reading several books at a time. One being 'The Host' Stephanie Meyer, who is the author of The Twilight series. It is about aliens. I know that seems weird in of itself. But it is well written. I am also reading 'World Without End' by Ken Follett. It is the sequel to The Pillars of The Earth which was a really fasinating book. I learned alot about the history of Cathedrals. I am not a Roman Catholic but it surely has made me appreciate all the work it took to build these beautiful old Cathedrals hundreds of years ago.
