Looking But NOT Seeing...

Looking but not seeing, we often look at things but merely see it. Sometimes we even do not realize how important some people or things or events are. It's so sad that we end up regretting things that we actually have and lost it in the long run. Sometimes the right person is right in front of us and we barely see how important he or she is. Until one day someone takes her/him away from us. Then we realize how dumb we are for only looking but not seeing it... How many of you have experienced this? I have experienced this several times and I hate myself for not being more aware of the things around me...

I can agree with that. Sometimes we are blind to alot of things that are so obvious before our eyes. It is great when we finally do open our eyes and see it though.

I have experienced this a lot of times already both in theb point of view of the one who don't see and being the one not seen hehe. That is why I like the song big yellow taxi. "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone." hehe The best thing to do is think twice before doing anything and really look around and not be self-centered.

yes, dolce it is a shame tham some people just don't realize what they have or who they have around them, just what they have to be thankful for and of.

Its not being dumb it is not being aware and that is quite a different thing. People with extremely good observation skills have very good concentration. They are aware of everything their eyes see. Just because your mind is not engaged when you look at things does not make you dumb. I am acutely aware of this difference these days as my concentration has become quite bad since I became ill. I often find myself just gazing without thinking. I call it being vague of fuzzy. It is almost like something is missing between the intellect and the conscious mind. It probably is just lack of concentration. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and it is know to cause concentration problems. It also makes thinking very slow.

Hi dolce_vita78, Most people feel that this when a love one is taken from us and we feel that we should have paid more attention to them to show appreciation for them being in our life. We learn by our mistakes. Tamara
