When you can't smell due to cold or other reason what foods taste good to you?

I have noticed that when I am suffering from allergies or a cold food just doesn't taste. good. It is bland. No matter what I do. I know that taste and scent go hand in hand. Is there a food that hits the spot for you when you cannot smell?

When my nose is all stuffy and I cannot smell anything I eat something with lots of horseradish sauce on it. This morning for breakfast I made myself some scrambled eggs, with onion, mushrooms, peppered bacon, shredded cheese, and covered it with horseradish sauce. It cleared my sinuses.

Thats when I like spicey soups. I also like foods with peppers. Just a touch of heat to them. It helps open your sinus and so I take a lil jalepeno, dice it up in small peices.I buy the ramen cup soups too because they have them in hotter flavors.

Yep. But then I get that almost uncontrollable runny nose!

When I cannot smell or taste food due to a cold, the only thing I really want, is jello. I cannot even taste that either though.

I hate having a cold as nothing tastes like it is suppose to. If I have a cold I uuslaly just eat some chicken noodle soup it is suppose to be good for your cold and it dosent' taste to bad even without any taste to it. I think I just might have some for supper tonight since it is such a rainy dreary day it sounds good.

Something with hot pepper sauce. (It clears out the nose.)
