How many of you so called Obama supporters would still support his ideas if, his interracial family had of turned him out white instead of black. No need to think up the ways you would still support him and lie about it, really.

I would support him regardless. My parents raised me to be "color blind", and I am doing the same while raising my kids. People need to wake up and realize we are a diverse country, and this whole black/white thing is way beneath us as a society, but for some ridiculous reason we can't get past it.

Since my vote is based on ideas and policies, not skin color, it would make no difference to me at all. I don't have to think up anything or lie, nor do I have to resort to whipping up hate and manufacturing personal lies about the other candidate to show my support for Obama.

Your comments are appreciated, for being truthful and responsive this subject. The discussion is just meant to spark up conversation in a subject of interest and nothing else.

Why bother answering this question when you've presumed that anyone who claims he would still support Obama is lying?

Thanks for your comments, I didn't mean for the question to sound like everyone was lying just starting a subject of interest to many people.

Absolutely, I'd still support him. I also was raised to be colorblind and I'm so happy to say that at least among the young kids, in my area anyway, we're finally getting to where more people are also growing up that way. There's no denying the fact that this is a historical election; had Hillary won the Democratic she'd have been the first female Presidential nominee, Obama is the first black nominee and Palin is the first female V.P. nominee for a long time and the first ever from the GOP. I'm happy to say the whole field of candidates vying for the nominations looked "more like America" than ever before. However, in my opinion the best part about that is that for at least many of us that wasn't the issue and in four years hopefully it will hardly be noticed if we have the same "mix". To me our color, nationality, gender, ethnicity and religion are just parts of what we are as total human beings. Someone can possibly bring more to the table based on their personal experiences and those of their families, which is a good thing, but the bottom line is it's all about the issues, character and temperament. I want my President to have compassion and to be able to relate to the people. I don't mean he or she has to be "just like me" and I don't want him or her to patronize me so I think that's so and he or she doesn't have to be dirt poor to be able to relate to what the rest of us go through. I DO want my President to be very intelligent and intellectually curious regardless of where they went to school or what experience they have. "Executive experience" is something that gets tossed around a lot but I don't put a lot of value on that. Being the President and the Vice President are jobs far different from any other executive positions and nobody has experience at it when they're going for their first term. It's a very unique position. Annie

So many people lie to themselves, so I will tell you the truth...they would not vote for him....

I appreciate the honesty I believe this to be true in many cases, I was just wanting to see if anyone would find the truth in themselves. I guess they've found instead what seems true to them and don,t see what many others see.
