I Forgot My Memory Card!!!

I'm so mad at myself! I keep all of my memory cards in one container. I usually keep that container in my camera bag, but I've been clearing all of the photos of them lately, so right now the container is in my laptop bag. I do keep my large 8 gig memory card in my camera. But I went to the fair on Thursday, so yesterday I had the memory card in my computer so I could look at the pictures I took. Today I went to a picnic in the park for the rescue group I adopted my dog from. All of the families who adopted pets from the group were invited. There were lots of dogs there. I wanted to take pictures of my dog playing with the other dogs. Also, the picnic was at a very beautiful park with lots of wildlife so I wanted to take pictures of that. So I brought my camera along to the picnic... completely forgetting that my memory card was in my computer and all of my spare memory cards were in my laptop bag! So I got there and realized I couldn't take any photos at all! I learned my lesson though! Now I'm keeping a spare memory card in my camera bag in case something like this happens again! Have you ever gone somewhere to take pictures only to realize you didn't have a memory card?

No not the card, but have forgotten my camera! I keep a spare card and a set of charged batteries in the camera bag. The spare does not need to be a large capacity card, the lower 1 gb cards now seem so cheap is is no hardship to own a spare.

Oh, I know how that feels. Happened to us before, too. Our new camera can store 1000 pictures. We took it on a two week vacation, never had to deal with the card changing and stuff. Came home with over 800 pictures. That's the most we ever took, lol. But it was a special vacation visiting my parents and family whom I hadn't seen in several years. It will be a long time before we can go there again. Anyhow, our goof up was that my husband bought an adapter to be able to re-charge the camera. The adapter worked fine except we couldn't plug it into the outlet because the outlets are sunk in, and not flat like here in the US. The adapter didn't allow for that. We ended up using and extension cord and breaking off pieces off the end part in order to plug the adapter in there. Sometimes you have to be a bit creative, lol.

Oops... I haven't done that (yet); but you are not the first one; on a couple of occassions I have lent a CF or SD card to someone to get them out of trouble. Thank goodness they are so cheap these days.
