I'm about to take my first Bikram Yoga class tonight and want to know an unbiased opinion on what the deal is with it. Is it good for you or bad for you? Why is it the most "controversial" one? Will I lose weight with this? I'm really looking to get into a new workout routine that I love where I can drop inches and have an overall will to go and do it!! I love spinning classes, hate running and love lifting weights. Overall, If I'm not sweating, It wasn't worth it...But I also want to transform my body! haha. Too much to ask? Any thoughts or advice out there is mucho appreciated!!

The sequence of poses when done regularly will absolutely result in weight loss. The question you should ask is what level of commitment and the funds you have available to going to a studio on a daily basis. The key is incorporating activity into your lifestyle, otherwise you will eventually leave it and feel guilty. The "deal" with Bikram is his mouth and the temperature of the room - that's the "controversial" long and short of it.
