what domestic pet is truely better, cats or dogs?

CATS! They don't bark. You don't have to walk them or take them out. They are loving and easily trained to use the box. They are independent so you don't have to entertain them or have a sitter. They are the greatest!

I have to say cats, because I am a cat person. I like dogs, but I don't understand them very well. Whereas cats, I totally get. I love their independence (aka snobbishness) and their playfulness too.

I really don't think you can compare the together. They both have their own unique qualities about them. It is like comparing apples to ornages. The both grow from a seed and are considered a fruit but totally different.

As a crazy cat lady - I think my answer is pretty self evident.

I think it really depends on the person who owns the pet. I am really not a dog fan. I don't like being licked, hate barking, and don't like having to pick up dog poop (with the alternative of leaving it there even worse). Cats are quiet, often entertained without you, soft and great to pet, and they go in a litter box that can easily be dumped. I am definitely a cat fan. Another pet that I have loved owning is rats. I have had six rats over the years and they make great pets. They are smart, fun to play with, love people, and are easy to change and fun to feed. The only down side is that you fall in love with this fun and friendly creature that has a really short lifespan (about three years).

Of course I am bias to dogs. I don't like cats. I never liked them because of their hairs that can trigger allergy attacks. I love them on pictures only. I think they are pretty on photos but I don't want them alive beside me. Yakkk! I love dogs because they really are man's best friend. They are the best watchguard morning, noon and nighttime.
