In the past long time ago, there was NO INTERNET. Until the past decades when we now have what we called then the "World Wide Web". I was introduced to the internet by my father, who was and is quite a geek. I recall watching my father surf the internet, and thinking about its potential. Slowly, I started realizing the power of the internet. In the past when the speed of my dial up was you know....extremely slow, every page that loaded complete was treasured by me. This was because I figured out that since this loading took me a few minutes of my life, I should read it before simply closing or navigating to the next site. myLotters, when were you first introduced to the internet? or was it a self discovery?

Strange you should ask this since my girl just called me saying she just saw my mate at the opposite end of the country to where we all live, which was a bit of a surprise seeing as its been years. But it was this guy that introduced me to it, when the rates were paying for the time used and it was really unique to have the internet. I remember being really jealous but I went over to his house and we watched stupid cartoons for hours.

It was around 1994, I think. I bought a PC and it came with Prodigy free for a month or some such thing. 14,400 k modem, those were the days! I spent some time in chat rooms, got bored with that quickly. Started looking things up, information, news, etc. Now I wonder how I ever lived without it!

Back when I was in middle school, I was taking computer classes, or as I still remember what they were called "multimedia classes". Sometime in the second half of 1997, there was a lab full of those Gateway 2000 computers, and I sat near the one near the wall inches next to the door. Even in the bright daylight, the lights were dimmed in the room, and I almost remember the faint smell of a hybrid between coffee, and the heat that came from the printers, or it could've been from the heat of the computer's hardware itself. There was a projector being displayed, and somehow the atmosphere of the room felt good. This was the time and place I learned about not only computers, but the Internet as well. After the lessons and tutorials, that's when me and other classmates went on the Internet for the very first time. Back then we were using either Windows 95 or Windows 98, and we were using Internet Explorer as the main web browser. I loved watching Family Matters on ABC's TGIF Fridays, and for that, I learned of the network's website and remembered it. The very first website I went onto was www.abc.com , and I looked until I found the Family Matters website, and that's where I went to. That's how I was first introduced to the Internet, in late 1997.

When my mom bought her first computer, I was introduced to dial-up Internet in 1998. Although both of my parents are computer illiterate, I had to get help from technicians who gave me support on to use the Internet.

I remember that the first computer I ever saw was back when I was nine years old and my mom bought us a computer. Back then, the only thing that anyone ever taught me about it was my sister's husband (who was only her fiancee back then) and he taught me how to switch it on :P (the lil button thingie xD) - everything after that, was all self-discovery, including the net.

There was a requirement for an email id in an application form and that's what took me to the internet some 10 years back. It's now more than an essential commodity. At that time, when I started surfing, it was very slow and expensive but now things have changed a lot.

I know that for the longest time there was no internet and that it used to be called the World Wide Web,and I remember that my parents got a desktop when I was like twelve and it came with a free trial of AOL so for the longest time we had dial up through AOL for our internet, and then they got a second phone line so that way the main phone line would not be busy because I was on the internet, and couple years ago they got tired of paying so much for AOL and it being so slow,so we switched to DSL through our phone company, because they got a package so they are paying less than were when we had AOL.

I was introduced to the internet while I was in college. One of the ladies I met in my English class was taking computer classes. She led me down the path to the world wide web and yahoo all in one setting! I have been addicted every since. This has been several years ago. Wow hard to believe it has been that long!

I was first introduced to Internet in 1999. A month after I learn how to on PC.hehehe.Before that, since 1997 I think I only heard the story from friends on how they use the Net to chat, to play games and to download their favourite celebrities photos ; ).During that time, I still dont have any interest and idea about the computer and Internet. After I get to know it, I have been the Net regular user until now.

It was in 1998 when I was first introduced to the Internet. mIRC was the first Internet software I ever used and within a few weeks I was hooked to chatting. The wonders of progress! The first Internet connections were extremely slow. Nowadays, they have evolved to be so fast that one can now stream hi-quality videos and download movies.

I can't remember when I was introduced to the internet; it was just there. My earliest memory of the internet was when I was about 3, playing internet solitaire. Internet has always been in my life. I'm less than a few decades old, I guess. :) But now I've become dependent on the internet. I've always had fast internet connection, because my dad is an IT, and if the internet is not fast, he MAKES it fast. (by doing stuff, I don't know what.)

We have a computer subject when I was 17y.o, that's probably the first time I have touched keyboard and CPU and so on.But the internet? it was because of my professor. I dunno what was running on his mind that time, he was our WorldLit instructor. He wants us to chat online and make friends with different nationality. I think that was his way for us to discover what's on the other side of the Pacific. Then, as you can guess, I got addicted to it, lol. I became a chat addict. It all started in school, and probably I became more into PC's and internet when I started working. have fun!

I guess I'm much too young to remember days without internet lol. I remember I first using internet myself was at the age of 8 (1997) but I'd seen it way before then. I guess it might have been my father who introduced it to me because he was the one who set up the internet connection in our house. I didn't go fully into internet (for email, msn, web searching, etc.) until the age of 12 when I got my own computer.
