I read a few mangas in the past like Rurouni Kenshin, Slam Dunk, Detective Conan... I was first impressed by the "anime version" before I actually went looking for the manga versions normally. If you'd ask me which is more interesting, I would say I prefer the anime version which has all the great sound effects, music and action. However, in most cases the manga version has a better story and details. That's why I read mangas on series that I like, some details were really interesting but wasn't in the anime. I remember reading a few volumes of the Initial D manga but it's far less interesting than the anime. It's just too difficult to feel the speed of the race without the graphics and the Eurobeats.

I've been into reading manga recently. it started from wanting to see further on into Naruto and Bleach once the fillers started and it snowballed from there to where i've read probably over 100 manga's including one shots. i wish more would go to anime, but sometimes it does lose quality because they change for time. so for detail about the storyline, i do like the manga's better.

I'm more of an anime otaku. I prefer the music and the animation. It's usually the anime that makes me interested in a manga. I'll start reading the manga after I think that the anime is nice. Currently, I'm reading Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxholic and Bleach manga.

It depends on what kind of series it is. I like romance and shoujo better when it's manga, because they usually turn into low-budget badly animated anime (like what they did to High School Debut... I just can't stand the lead character's hair!! XD) But for the action and more shounen-y series, I definately perfer the anime because it's so much more exciting when it's animated and they throw in the really exciting background music :DD
