We all get them... we (almost) all wish we didn't. To get on the Canadian National Do Not Call List, dial 1-866-580-3625 from the phone number you want registered. You'll get a recording that will take you through the steps. It will take up to 30 days before most of the calls stop, though, and your number will be delisted in 2011.

I was noticing an increase in the annoying calls, I guess they have to phone somebody and with all those numbers they cannot call I got the calls. I was forced to go on the list. It seems that I get less now after a week and hope it drops to near zero by the month end. There are way too many exceptions though.

The trouble with the do not call list is that there are too many exceptions. I still get calls daily and I have been on the do not call list since October of 2008. I am getting pummelled with calls from a company in the states selling car warranties. They use many different numbers.

Thanks, I'd really like to stop hearing from those stupid windows and doors companies. That and companies like HBC who want to sell me insurance. We usually don't answer calls that are 888/877/800/866 or 416. But if someone is not near a phone with call display they will pick it up. Usually I look at the call display and yell out not to answer it. I think it is time I registered.

The ones I've been getting lately are a "Second warning" that my vehicle factory warranty is about to expire. Not only do I not have a factory warranty on my vehicle, I don't have a vehicle! I don't even drive. Or Captain Stubing (sp?) inviting me aboard... complete with steamship whistle sounding...

Hey barbara! That's just great! You have to wait until 2011
It's not even 2009! How comforting! I put my name on that
stupid list here in the USA and it still didn't help! I
get those damn calls everyday! Thank goodness for caller ID!
What are these people stupid! Don't they know that we can
see who is calling and not pick up the phone! It is just so
annoying! I can't tell you how many solicitation calls I
get in one day! It is unbelievable. I have to try to find
out how to get it done here again because I can't deal with
the phone ringing all day long. I wouldn't mind waiting just
30 days for most of them to stop! That would be worth it
if it really would work. I have to check into it again and
hopefully this time it will work!
