Okay everyone, I have my pictures posted. There is a profile and a frontal view. To see both please visit my profile page and click on photos. For new viewers....I currently weigh 240lbs...my chest is 45in...waist 46in...hips 55 3/4in. Now the accountability begins! Today I started with my coffee (0 cal, 0carb), I added 4 tablespoons of cream (80 cal, 0carb). I took my vitamins and ate my miracle noodle breakfast prepared the same as day one dinner (0cal, 0carb) with tablespoon of butter (100cal, 0carb). I was suppose to have water with Hoodia but I didn't get to it. I put the Hoodia drops in the coffee instead. I didn't finish my breakfast because I had to leave for an appointment (-50cal), so I put the other half of my noodles in the fridge, but managed to grab a glass of water on the way out (number 1). When I returned home in the afternoon, I attempted to eat the other half of my noodles but was called out for another appointment. I ate half of Atkins bar on the way (75cal, 2carbs) and also chewed a piece of Hoodia gum. I returned home around 4pm and finally ate my 2nd half of my miracle noodle breakfast (50cal). I still had coffee so I drank that instead of water (very bad, must drink more water!). I went out again, grocery shopping for the month. When I returned from shopping I had a snack, 1 1/2 Wasa Crisps (70cal, 9carbs) and two tablespoons full of seafood salad (45cal, 5carbs) and 1 tablespoon full of chicken salad (25cal, 1carb). After I put the groceries away, I had dinner...miracle noodles in chicken broth with butter (100 cal, 0 carb) and chicken seasoning same as the night before. I did not feel like making anything else so this was my dinner. I had my 2nd glass of water and waited for awhile before I took my Acai Berry pills with the water (I finished the glass I already had, not a new glass). It's now midnight and I am starving so I'm going to chew 2 pieces of Hoodia gum (which is actually the recommended dosage but I try to get away with one because it's expensive) because I don't want to eat this late at night. I should've gone to bed but I've been MyLotting all night. I think I'm going to retire before the effects of the gum where off but before I do, let's recap...Before Pictures are posted on my page. I consumed 495cal, 12carbs and managed to not starve until midnight when I should be sleeping anyway. I may eat a boiled egg before bed, I haven't decided yet. Just add 90cal and 0carbs just in case. After adding up my caloric intake, I think I need another snack. I really am not intending to make this a starvation diet, and I am hungry.

You need to be careful about what you do with calorie intake on a diet. If you are too high obviously you will nto lose weight. However if you are too low your body will start to think it is in a famine and will hold on to fat like it is going out of fashion. You need to do the following. Firstly reduce your calorie intake to 1,800 a day plus/minus 50. This will ensure you are below your maintenance calorie level whilst ensuring the famine response is not activated. Secondly you need to exercise. The form of exercise you should do is gym work every other day following a strength training programme such as the 5*5 workout from www.stronglifts.com. However i would suggest that whilst the xercises are good for you the rep range would not be. I would say do those exercises on a 3 sets of 12 routine. The question you should ask me is 'why?'. Let me tell you... your muscles use more calories to maintain than your fat. If you do not use them and you reduce your calories your body will shed what is most expensive to it in terms of calories and that is muscle. It will burn some fat and some muscle. if you do gym work your body will not shed muscle as it will recognise that these are essential and will just burn fat. Remember your diet will determine your size and your exercise will determine your shape. Finally drink plenty of chilled water, around 6 pints a day. This will help stave off hunger and will actually burn a few calories too. that amount of water could be another pound of fat a month dropped just through calorie burning alone heating it up in your body. I have lost 34 pounds in 14 weeks doing this and so I know it works. I have also got in much better shape because of the gym work and am now much more confident about putting weight on as I know it is controlled and it is muscle. Best wishes.

Thanks! This is great information. I hope other MyLotters read it. I am doing the minimum calorie thing for the first week while I try out the Miracle noodles. I want to master the preparation of the noodles before I add something new. On the 7th day of the diet I will weigh in and add more food to the list. I will also add exercise, though I don't know what kind as yet, but I'll post it here. I can only concentrate on one thing at a time or I won't stick with it and I want to make sure I have fun and stick with it which is why I'm posting it here. If I have too many things going on and I try to do a full blown diet/life changing regimen all at once it will be too overwhelming and I'll just say forget it! I can barely work in my 8 glasses of water I committed to. yesterday I was only able to get in 2. So once I squeeze all of that in within the next 7 days, I'll be ready to enter phase 2. I think phases is best, that way you can see what's worked so far, change it up a little to maximize results and add new things and be able to pinpoint the effects the additions have made on you.

Good stuff. One thing I will change to the above though is, as I notice you are female, you should eat 1,400 +/- 50 calories a day. That will be ideal for you. Nice and simple, nice and effective. When you are ready to take on board the exercise too please give me a shout if you want any help on rotuines etc. Best wishes.

Starvation diets don't work and cause you to bing and mess the whole diet up so I would not recommend it either. Have you heard of T-lites? I don't mean the candle kind either. It is a diet pill that I used and lost over 70 lbs on www.t-lites.net

Marian, if you restrict calories that badly you will have no energy to burn off the calories, and your body will kick into starvation mode and refuse to lose weight. I am following this, and I did something as restrictive when I was much younger, and what I found it that now I have a very hard time losing weight. I gained back everything I lost and then some. I can see by your measurements that you need to lose, but do not abuse your body, it is the only one you have.

Thank you. Next week I'll be adding more to the diet. I will also be adding some exercise. The first week I just want to concentrate on mastering the preparation of the noodles. Once I figure out what works and what doesn't, I'll add more side dishes or use the noodles as a side and add more meat. I also want to see if these noodles fill you up. If they do it would be a great meal replacement for the upcoming holiday. If you can eat the noodles for breakfast and lunch, you will have saved enough calories to eat your favorite desserts and maybe an extra serving of turkey and stuffing at Thanksgiving dinner!

Marian, if the noodles help then keep woith them however it is the calories that make the difference. 5 or 6 small meals a day adding up to the 1400 calories a day will see you lose weight in a solid controlled fashion. The 1400 calories can be made up of what you like although some foods are obviously better than others (white fish grilled, boiled vegetables etc). Using a site like www.fitday.com to monitor your calorie intake can help a lot.

I hate to tell you this, you may already know it, but for any long term weight loss you need to eat 1200 Cal. per day. If you don't you will lose maybe 10 lbs, ASAP but you will not feel good and you will gain that right back in a week or so. The diet as you state it is not good for you and will mess up your system. Please be careful. I know as a long time dieter.

I know, this is more of a kick start to experiment with the Miracle noodles. I will be adding more food to the diet once I master preparing the noodles and I will also be adding exercise (don't know what kind yet, I hate all forms but I know it is necessary). The first week is basically for cleansing. I'm taking the Acai Berry in the evening to help eliminate toxins. After seven days of mainly noodle of playing around with the noodles, I'll weigh in and add more stuff. I want to have fun with it, which is why I'm posting it here. I'm also making sure I take my vitamins because I'm not eating that much; but I'm not hungry either, unless I overdo it as I did last night when I had to eat before bed which I didn't want to do. So tonight I will make sure I'm not lazy and add some protein to my noodles to hold me through the night. I'll be fine. I'm a life long dieter. I'm just trying my own thing because everyone else's diets (I've tried them all) don't work. I want something I can live with without having to read a book (read them all, already). Thank you so much for your advise, I'm really greatful and it's important for people to know the information so they don't take my idea and run with it without knowing all the information.
