Yes, I absolutely DO suffer from SAD. A few days of overcast skies, rain and no sunshine peeping through really starts getting me feeling depressed - even though there's nothing really wrong. Our bodies need some Vitamin D every day - SAD is a very real condition, and should be taken seriously.

Hi Rosekitty, I think a lack of sunshine anywhere affects people so I guess we all get a little S.A.D. at times eh! Glad you have been enjoying the sunshine. I enjoy snuggling under a blanket on the sofa and just chilling (sorry about the pun) on these cold dark winter evenings in the UK and boy was it cold over the weekend. I wouldn't change it though. Love living here and find it quite invgorating putting lots of layers on and taking a walk along the beach, not got my thermals on just yet though! Huggles. Ellie :D

flip flops - flip flop kinda girl
Hi I am a summer kind of girl and a girl that needs sun to feel her best . Summer just went by way too fast this year for me . I am much more active in the summer and have many things to do . I go on trips, walks, swim, hike, and just am always outdoors . Winter time is very hard for me and when it gets dark early . I tell people I am like a bear and go into hibernation mode which is true . I got try to keep busy, and maybe that will help . Im just not as full of spunk ya know. I would love to be in a warmer party of the state and by a beach . If i lived by a beach I dont think I could ever be sad

Odd, I cannot recall ever wishing I was in Texas The winters here in the desert are usually mild as well, but one can still be affected with those wintertime blues. A nice, bright lamp can help with those blues, although it is not as good as natural sunlight, it's better than nothing

Hi Rosekitty! I just love the new you! You look lovely in pink! Yes I do suffer from SAD! It is miserable! Since I live in NY I do get the wintertime blues! Actually, we have had 2 beautiful 60+ degree sunny days here for the weekend but I fear that they will probably be the last of them and then it will be getting colder again and we will start getting that winter blast. I'm pretty much set because I was able to get out and get 2 new winter jackets and a nice pair of new winter boots so at least I have the winter gear ready. But, that won't help my mood when the weather starts getting cold and icy and windy and I'm stuck inside because I can't bare to go out in that freezing cold weather! It does make me get very depressed! But, this year will be different! I now have mylot friends to keep me warm! So I am hoping that will help me from getting to caught up in my SAD! So I am counting on my mylot friends to remember that Opalkitty will be stuck inside trying to keep warm in her kitchen/office all huddled next to her oven trying to keep warm and help cheer me up!

Oh no, I've never suffered from that. If anything, I suffered from the opposite while I lived in Arizona--I got depressed with all the sunny, cloudless days all the time with no change. I live back home in Ohio and love every day, the weather is varied and I love the gloomy days! My mom, though, has SAD and can't stay here during the winter.
