Hello myLotters. I got one problem, as you can read in the headline somebody copied some parts from my blog. My blog is about PTC sites and during the time I have been clicking all the sites I find out my way how to identify PTC which will probably turn into scams in the future. I learned this on my own mistakes. I wanted to share my experiences with other people to help them avoid dishonest sites and now I feel really sad somebody just came to my site and rudely copied this and other part to his blog and placed it on the front page. Even did not bother to correct grammar mistake I made in the post...lol How would you react if somebody would stole your text? Is there any way how to force this person to remove it from his site? Is there anything I could do to avoid this situation in the future? Looking forward for your comments!

I would contact admin who host this site and complain to them...that the only logical recourse that you have ,i know it should be in their "Terms and Conditions" some where...a good blog site will have some kind of rules for dealing with this kind of cheating...

I will try it but I doubt if blogspot with the huge amount of members will solve anything.

hi there, dieorfly.. the internet is a 'tricky' place.. and whether it's in real life or here in the 'virtual' world, there's a lot of 'sneaky' people who thrive on other people's achievements.. i used to be afraid of venturing into the world of blogging because just the thought of someone claiming my work and getting credits for it didn't really appeal to me.. however, being a Christian, i have learned that GOD is in control of EVERYTHING. the 'sneaky' people may be able to get away with their dishonesty but in the long run, they are the real losers, not us. for one, they cannot steal what's in our hearts and in our minds.. they cannot steal our ideas, our experiences, our personality, our individuality. more importantly, i believe that although we have a GOD who is loving and merciful, He is also a JUST GOD. He doesn't let evil people go away.. i do hope you allow me to share one verse in the Bible about revenge: Romans 12:19 "Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for GOD's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the LORD." the 'sneaky' people may seem to get away and even get rich with their schemes but since GOD is in control, we can be assured that He will give those people what they deserve. GOD knows our hearts and even if we don't get amply recognized or even compensated for the work of our hands, I know that He sees our efforts and He will reward us as He deems fit, in His own way, in His own time.. we just have to trust in Him.. :) as for avoiding being "sneaked" upon, i think there are certain HTML Codes which can be used to disable the copy-paste feature but i haven't really tried them out for myself.. i hope you'll share it with us here in myLot in case you find out about them.. happy myLotting! :)

Wow...I have found it!! It is great what you can find on the internet I have found a java script which unable anybody to copy-past the text from my blog. Only disadvantage is this can be bypass quite easily by copying the text through blog feed. But I hope this will help me a bit at least.

I would personally take a couple weeks to get used to the idea that my stuff was stolen. Its very hard to copyright and prevent the theft of millions of writings on a worldwide forum like the net. Basically, its also hard to prosecute someone like this. The cost and the time and effort involved limit the viability of doing this to big companies with a lot more resources than you or me. I would just forget it. I know its hard but what are the alternatives in the viable sense ?

Unfortunately, blog thievery is a common occurrence. Not much you can do beyond leaving a comment on their blog saying thanks for stealing my stuff. Since this time they seem to be sharing information you think is important, it may be a blessing. More readers will see the information this way

Unfortunately there is no comment form or I did not find it. Yeah I am glad more people will find this information, but since I am the author I do not like somebody to usurp my work. If he put also my signature I got under this text on my site and link to my blog it would be ok for me, but this way it is just theft.

You have copyright on anything you originally create. This person is a thief. I would contact either him if you think they will listen and ask them to take down the content. If they do not, contact the service that is providing his blog. They usually take a dim view of copyright violation. Sometimes unfortunately "crime" does pay as there is so much plagiarism and copyright violations on the internet. Is there a reply section to his blog post, a lot of blogs do that. You might want to shame him there first.

First and foremost be able to back up your claim with files, dated publishings and/or screen shots. Then when you have all your ducks in a row, start off by sending the individual a polite request to remove their/YOUR content. If that does no good, then be sure to let your friends know WHO this individual is so they can pass along the info that someone is "Stealing" content. I had that problem ONCE and only once (as to date). It only took a few well placed words of advice for the person to cease and desist although I suspect today it would take a lot more. Protect your content at all costs and keep your friends informed. that's about all you can do at this point in the game I'm afraid!
