I found a pup - Gypsy!!

A couple of days back, when I was walking my dog Tina, I heard some moans from the bushes. The dog, of course, poked her nose into the bushes and wouldn't listen to me when I told her to come out. There was something moaning in the bushes, and at first, I thought it was kitten. I made noises, encouraging it to come out, and soon a tiny pup emerged. The creature was so tiny, slightly bigger than my palm, and so weak that it could hardly stand. I brought it home and fed it and decided to keep it because, well, it was so small and so helpless, and my heart just went out to it. A stray b1tch had given birth to three pups a month back, and I suspect that my stupid neighbor had interfered in the little family. She had taken the two male pups and kept them in her yard. The b1tch would go to the yard to feed the two little male pups. I suspect the female was just thrown away to fend for herself. I suspect that the b1tch would feed her the leftover milk, and the creature survived all those days because of this little milk. Anyway, the pup belongs to me now. I have named her "Gypsy," and she looks just like one--a nice little toy pup that can hardly stand!! Yet, she snarls at my big dog Tina. Luckily, Tina is very gentle with the little one. :) Cheers and happy mylotting

When we first had a pet dog which our dad brought home from somewhere, she was just still a puppy and when we asked dad on what her name was, my dad told us that her name was Gypsy, coincidentally similar to the pup you found and also named. Our Gypsy always barked at those who passed by our house and would often give us a hard time whenever we have to chase after it due to going off whenever she gets out. She wouldn't bark at relatives though, even if that's the first time she had seen some of them. She then gave birth to three pups when she got older. A furry white black, a not so furry brown white and a single female which was all white except at the rear that had a few spots. We lost the first one due to straying off to a neighbor's house who happens to have guests and just took the puppy when they left. The other one got hit at the road which was unfortunate. The single female just vanished one morning and my dad suspects those group of individuals who take dogs.. A few months passed and our eldest bro brought home two kittens which Gypsy nursed. I was a bit surprised at first but, later on, when television shows would have dogs or other animals nursing other animals, I just got used to it. Well, I'd go on and on about it but, that's that for now.. I just recalled that pet of ours when I read that you named that pup you found 'Gupsy' (^_^ )

Your stupid neighbour needs some telling off. Evil one. I've come across people like that and they make me really mad. I too have adopted four strays. One of them incidentally is Gypsy. She walked into our gamedrome (our old business place) three years ago. She was so skinny, bones jutting out. We fed her and let her be there. Somehow somebody let her out of the gate that night. The next day it was pouring cats and dogs, and she was back in the compound with a ligament tear in her hind leg. My guess is that someone would have hurt her. I called our Vet and she was treated. I kept her lock in the garage. We had a security guard there, so he would keep an eye on her. If you ask me now, she is so very intelligent, tiny little thing. So small, but brains are so big. She is so very loving and much attached to us. I think she is a cross between a Mongrel and a German Shepherd. I have her home with me now and she is thrilled. I love her along with all the other adopted doggies.

I'm so glad you rescued her! I like the choice of name too! I'm sure with someone like you to love and care for her she'll grow into a happy loving pet and will repay your kindness a thousandfold. I know people say dogs don't remember the past but rescued dogs always seem to make the best pets. I think they know when they are wanted and with some-one they can trust. I'm sure the snarling is jut puppy play and the two will soon be inseperable. Just don't forget to give Tina attention before the pup so that she doesn't get jealous. I hope you and your canine companions have lots of great times together.

Hehehe... Thanks for the response. I was a bit worried that Tina would get jealous. She does, but in a different way. When I play with the pup, she gets jealous because she wants to play with the pup... she doesn't want me to play with it. Amusing, isn't it? Cheers and happy mylotting

Cheers for you, and thank you for being a rescurer and not just ignore that poor baby. I think the lady who owns the babies, should have the animal proyective services on her so they are aware of what is happening at her house. She is definitly abusive and negligent against animals, and I would be worried about the other animals that she takes care of. Have fun with your new little pup!!!

Unfortunately, the laws protecting animals in my country are not very strong. But, I really do hope that woman who separated the baby from her mother will pay for it. She has to!! Cheers and thanks for the response.

Thank you for taking the puppy home. I don't know where you live. I live in California and "we" try to get all strays fixed so he/she cannot make more unwanted strays. Maybe you have a vet/SPCA nearby that will spay/neuter the stray pets. And, anyone who "throws" a helpless animal away has no purpose on this planet as far as I am concerned. Maybe you can go to the "stupid neighbor" and take his/her children/grandchildren and throw them away. There is no difference...babies are babies and are helpless alone. Tell your "stupid neighbor" that I hope he/she ends up on the street alone with no one to help. I don't know your neighbor, and I despise him/her!

What a wonderful find! I am so glad you decided to keep her. You saved her life and that's a special thing to do. I had a skinny, hungry and unkempt cat show up on my door and after spending a few days trying to locate her owners as she had a collar on, I decided to keep her. It was a few days before Christmas and the cat shelter was about to inundated with unwanted kittens people had given as Christmas presents so I knew that if was to surrender her to the shelter, they would only keep her a day or two and then she would have to be put down. I couldn't bear the thought so I kept her. Her name is Rosie and that was almost four years ago.

I wish I had a camera. :) I could have posted a pic. The poor little thing is still so weak, she can hardly stand, but that doesn't stop her from playing with the big one. They already love each other so much. I never thought that my rowdy Tina has such a protective spirit in her. :)

I would have loved to share her picture. Unfortunately, I don't own a camera. :( really sorry. She is a tiny little toy dog with brown legs and a black body and a cute little black tail. :) As for her breed, I really don't know. A mongrel, I guess? All I know is that she is a darling. :) Cheers and thanks for your response

Hi positiveminded, Oh bless you for recuing the poor little pup, I would have done the same too, I think your neigbours should be told off of what they done, it is cruel, how would they like it if one of their children were taken away and dump in the middle of nowhere. I am so glad you are going to keep it. Bless you. Tamara

Good thing I skimmed over the other responses because I was going to refuse to participate in this discussion until you had posted a picture. A camera is a necessity positive, when you have friends 1000's of miles away who want to see your peacock feather or your new puppy dog! It sounds like the 2 dogs will get along fine, and that is very good because it will give your Tina a companion when she doesn't get to be with you! Not even to mention how that little puppies heart must be swelling with love for you for coming to her rescue!!! Pretty soon she will have forgotten all about shivering, hungry and alone in the bushes, and her now experience will be friendly warmth and comfort! BTW, where is that discussion on reincarnation you were planning??

Yup, you are right, you are right. I must get a camera, at least to take a pic of my animals. :) I will soon, and I hope I did not say this before. This baby still shivers and refuses to take rest. She insists on running around. And she falls and rolls around so many times. And, of course, she wants to play with Tina and the cats too. She wants to accompany us when we take our morning and evening walks, but she is too small to do so and cries a lot if we leave her behind. So, I end up carrying her all the way! Am I spoiling her? LOL!! Oh yes, I will start that past life discussion soon. :)

oh how kind you are that even a tiny creature you give it a home. Some people would just say, leave it alone, because it is hard to adopt another animal at home. LOL. they have a lot to feed and additional budget for the pets food.. but you have a kind heart. God Bless you.
