She's Doing Great!!!!!!

Mom is doing better tonight!! She has great color and she looks so bright eyed and bushy tailed!! lol And this is AFTER the surgery!! She's a tough woman that's for sure!! If it were me, I'd have been out like a light till the next day!! lol Anyway, gosh what a scare!! Whew!! She had to have a stint put in and to have it done, she had to be put to sleep which scared the hell out of us because she was told by doctor at another hospital that she couldn't be put under because of having a stroke and blood clots in her lungs, she'd die. The doctor here told her she had to have the surgery or she'd die for sure!! We were back into a corner so tight that there was no way around it! Being that she had a couple of months into her healing from the blood clots and the stroke was 7 months ago she had a chance to make it. She was crying when she was wheeled out of the room, she was that darn scared! So they put her in a deep deep sleep instead of putting her under and it worked like a charm!! She told us the gang in the OR were cutting up and laughing which made her feel a little bit at ease. She said the anesthesiologist had a mickey mouse t-shirt on and she told him "My daughter would love you because of your mickey mouse shirt" and he replied "where is she so I can love her too!" lol 
She has to go back in two months to have the "boulders" removed. They couldn't do it tonight because she has a severe infection and could get into her blood stream if they tried to get the stones so it's best to wait a couple of months. Right now with the stint, her water is flowing so it's working great!! How awesome is THAT?! I'm so dancing in my shoes!! Now I have to get some badly needed zzzzz's for I was with her all night last night, till 5:30 this morning, went home and got a few hours of sleep and when we got the call that she was having surgery, we flew back to be with her, got some cat naps in here and there so you can only imagine how dogged tired I am!! But it's a happy dogged tired though!! Yippee!!!! And it's all thanks to you and your good thoughts and prayers!! They were all surely heard!! I can't thank you all enough!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!So far there hasn't been any word on the house however, dad wasn't home majority of the time either so, tomorrow maybe? We hope!! But I promise to keep you all informed!! HUGS!!!!

This is such a great post. Glad that she is doing so very well. I love it that she could cut up with the anesthesiologist. That surely helped her have a better experience. That is probably why he wore it.

The hospital my dad has had his surgeries at are great people that really interact with the patients all depending on the patients personality. Always great to have some not so serious time when heading into surgery.

I'm surprised that he could wear such a shirt being an anesthesiologist/doctor! lol But I love it! I've gotta tell ya, this whole ordeal has really taken a toll on me. This morning I woke up and my face is all swollen, not from crying, I was too stunned to cry, and my eyes feel so weird. Across my nose the two red spots where I was hit by the tree a week or so ago is back and I have a black eye again. I'm still a wee bit tired even though I slept relatively good last night. If this doesn't kill me then something bigger will! lol
Grandpa Bob, that's the way a hospital should be! That's awesome! The second time mom was in the hospital, a nurse came into her room and said "You! You're back again?!" then she turned around and walked out of the room and never returned!! These dumb @sses, even with all the education they supposidly got, don't realize what a brain stem stroke is! The person isn't in their right mind and will act out as mom did! She doesn't remember the majority of her stay there and doesn't know what she did to warrent such a response. I wish she got a name so I could report her but she didn't so such is life. So consider yourself very lucky to be in an area with such a great hospital!!

I am glad she is doing well. Get a good nights sleep and hopefully they will be even better in the morning. Get some rest so that you don't get so run down like you did last time. We have all been thinking about you!!

I am so happy for you and your mom, your dad too. Thats such terrific news that she is doing ok, came thru surgery ok too. your mom sure is one tough cookie, don't mess with her. You are going to have her for a long time. Just get her well thru this hurdle and she is going to shine. That guy is going to rent the house, if he buys it, thats even better. Things are looking up kid, hot damm.

Sometimes Doctors say things that may be true, but we have to depend on G♥d to see it through...I am jumping for joy I am so excited, so I can imagine how you are feeling..(Or will feel when you have gotten your rest..

so glad that the prayers worked! So glad that someone
was listening! I hope that you are able to get that much
needed sleep and will wake up and feel so much better.
I am glad that Mom is feeling better finally too! So
get your rest and keep us posted and I will continue to
pray and maybe tomorrow you will hear about the house!
Till them I will keep my fingers crossed and the prayers
will keep coming!

That was good news. :) I will be praying for your mom's fast recovery. ^__^ It's a good thing that you have really good doctors there. You're mom is doing great, she is tough. :) The atmosphere in the O.R could be stressful because they're dealing with the lives of the patients but it's nice that they made your mom feel comfortable during the operation. ^__^ God Bless! Rest well, you need that. ^__^

Thanks gabs!! I hope she's on the up and up now however, she has to go back at least one more time to have the stones removed in a couple of months which I can handle that since it's on an out patient basis. But I've gotta tell ya, this whole ordeal has really taken a toll on me. This morning I woke up and my face is all swollen, not from crying, I was too stunned to cry, and my eyes feel so weird. Grat news to hear.
Prayers really do help.
My thoughts and prayers are still going out during recovery etc.

Yes that is very true. As the saying goes, "Getting old is not for sissy's" which is so true! But I've gotta tell ya, this whole ordeal has really taken a toll on me. This morning I woke up and my face is all swollen, not from crying, I was too stunned to cry, and my eyes feel so weird. Awwww thank you hiddenwing!! It's been a hell of a story too, one that goes back to April of this year. Mom has been in and out of the hospital since then and I've gotta tell ya, this whole ordeal has really taken a toll on me.
