This is going to be a crazy day. I live in Chicago, and it's already a zoo. Hopefully everyone will have short lines and quick voting. Good luck!

Unfortunately for you - Chicago is probably going to be a real mess for the next few days. What have you heard about the "victory bash" that Obama is holding there?

I voted last week during early voting. I had about an hour's wait, which wasn't bad for my area. I have waited much longer during previous Presidential elections. Over 2.5 million early votes have already been cast here in NC. I can't imagine what it will look like today. I'm just glad I already voted!

I was very fortunate. I usually have to wait around 3 hours total if I vote on Election Day; that's one reason I have been going early this year. It was in the 1980's and we had moved. When I went to update my registration, the lady doing it put me in the wrong polling place. The right one wouldn't let me vote because I was not on the books. I spent about 2 hours of that time trying to get in touch with the Election's Board. Not a lot of fun, but it was worth it.

Wishing you all the best Marian. This is the kind of day that derails diets, so do not get discouraged. I voted early so I am just going to go for a walk with hubby.

So far, so good on my diet. I'm just trying to figure out what to make for dinner. I don't have a taste for anything right now but I know it's time for me to eat.

People shouldn't vote for him just to make history. That's a foolish way to go about it.

This is why we are so lucky in Oregon, everybody votes by mail and so we can take our time. Still we have lines, but short ones.

I haven't been to vote yet, my ride hasn't showed up yet. I think with school being out it has made it harder for people to be able o vote because they either have to drag their kids along or get a babysitter. But one of the school a few miles from us is where the voting is taking place this year. I hope it will be quick and painless..lol

You are definitely at the epicenter. I heard on the morning news that they are expecting the largest political crowd in history tonight in Chicago. Have fun but stay safe.

Fortunately, we live in a small town where the lines will not be quite so bad. Our polling place is our local church, and our little community is not that big. It was not too bad during the primaries and should be fairly quick and painless. I will be voting shortly, as soon as the polls open here. Good luck every one, and remember: NO MATTER WHO YOU VOTE FOR, JUST GET OUT AND VOTE!!! I can't say that enough!

I flew into Chicago today for a a few business meetings this week. The plane was full of Obama supporters. I think there is something to be said about humility. Luck for me, I had my IPOD so I could ignore them. I hope that I can get out of here on Friday.

Hi marian! Wow! You live in Chicago! It must be mad exciting to live there today! You live in the city that is the hometown of the new President of the United States of America! That is way cool! Were you in that crazy crowd when President-elect Obama made his acceptance speach? It was unbelievable to watch on the tv. I can't even imagine being anywhere in the same city! Even the people that were watching in Times Square here in NY were crazy!
