It Happened Again Last Night

I have an end table next to my side of the bed. Next to it I keep a wooden tv tray with two phones, one landline and the other my cell, and the remote. I like to work on crafts once in awhile while sitting on the bed. Get comfy and prop up my feet. The phone rang last night and I had just fallen asleep. I grabbed the remote and said, "hello" and then realized it was the remote. Was so glad my husband was sound asleep and didn't see this happen. Have you ever done something like this and glad nobody saw you?

You made me smile, that's cute. My husband usually has the remote and I usually have the phone (division of labor, I guess) so it hasn't happened yet. But I bet it doesn some day. Thanks and take care.

I almost asked you if he lets you use the remote often. I get the remote if my husband is gone, but luckily it's far away from the phone. The thing I'm famous for is backing up in a store into a manikin and saying sorry or excuse me to a piece of plastic and realizing it later.

Hey carolbee! I was lmao when I read this! I have done
the exact same thing! So you are not alone! Yup! I also
grabbed the remote thinking it was the phone! And
thankfully no one saw me either! I was asleep too!
That's why I don't like to answer the phone when I'm
sleeping! But I bet you can really laugh about it now!
Did you tell your husband yet?

Hello carol bee. It is funny of you to take the remote control as the phone. Smiling. It is also lucky of you not to have been seen by your hubby. I am sure that he would have had a good laugh if he had seen this.
Good day to you, friend.

hello carolbee
lmao at you! that scene needs to be on a television sitcom. lol but i do not think that i have ever picked up something in place of the telephone receiver before like that thou. lol i am just glad that you didn't have to get up out of the bed when the telephone rang and bump yourself on your end table or something like that and hurt yourself. lol you know? lol i wouldn't have been able to answer the telephone when it was ringing after saying hello into the television remote. thanks so much for sharing that funny story with us all around here at Mylot.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

That is really funny. I definately have. When I was on vacation I had my cell phone and my digital camera in my purse, they are both around the same size and kind of feel the same. I tried to answer my digital camera one time. It was so stupid, but no one saw me. Of course I missed the call.

Something similar happened to me, except it was with my alarm clock and not the remote control.
Like a lot of people, when I have to get up early, I put my alarm on. And the alarm clock that have, the buttons are all in the front, all small, and close together. I keep my alarm clock on a night stand next to my bed, so I don't have to get up to turn it off. Anyway, one morning my alarm clock goes off. And I reach out to press on the snooze button. But it wouldn't turn off. SO I keep pushing the button. It took so long to realize that I wasn't pressing the snooze button. I felt so ridiculous. I thought that there was something wrong with my alarm clock.

That's funny!
This is what I have done before I realized what I was doing. I'll be watching TV and at some point I'll start waving the remote in front of the TV. And I could never figure out why. And then it hit me. On my computer, if I am idle for too long, the screen saver comes on, so I have basically gotten into the habit of moving my mouse around every few moments when I am reading something online that I know will take me a long time to read. I finally realized that I was treating my TV like the computer and the remote control like the mouse! As if a screen saver would come up on the TV!
I'm glad I figured it out and quit!
