TGIF - Who created it?

Every Friday we heard people saying TGIF! Thanks God It's Friday! I have even said that to some of my friends as well as on my comments at friends' blogs that I visited. All the while, I do not care for what it is all about and where it is originated from. All that I care about is that Friday is the last working day for the week and it is time to take a break. Some people would go for drinks and happy hours and some others, like me, will be looking forward to some quality time with my wife and son. There is even a restaurant chain over here that is called TGIF and you bet, it is always full on Friday night. I had been there a couple of times on Friday and had to queue before I could get a place to have some nice western food for dinner. However, today, a Friday, a hot one over here, I was thinking about it during lunch time and suddenly I wonder about the origin of TGIF. Does anybody know who started it? Who actually invented it and is there any particular reason that it is Thank God and not something else? Let me know if you have any information on this so that I could sleep well tonight. LOL!

I don't know who created this expression but I do use it quite often. I do look forward for having a relaxed time away from work. It serves me to relax. © ronaldinu 2008
