Hi, mylotters here, i need your help: I recently read a monograph on Culture, it says British people and US people respond to "thank" differently, for UK people they usually say "Not at all" or "Don't mention it ", but US people are more likely to say "You are welcome" and "you are welcome" is a formal way of responding to "thank you". I was wondering whether that is true or not?

It does sound formal but... in anyway you would respond... I guess, would be enough to show your courtesy for the thanks given to you.

I guess not, its up to the person on how he will respond to the word "thank you", in my case when i do a favor to someone then when they says, "thank you" to me, i just respond with the word "thank you", but sometimes, my respond is like this "your welcome, no problem or It's okay". By the way I'm from Philippines. Can i add you?
