I have to keep 4 gallons of milk in our fridge at all times unless I want to go to the store every other day. My family drinks nearly a gallon of milk per day, between drinking it at meals and eating it with cereal.

How many gallons do you keep in the fridge?

Hi ladym33, we usually don't keep fresh milk in the fridge. We keep only the condensed milk which refilled in the bottle in the fridge only, for my hubby prefers to take coffee with sweet condensed milk added. My hubby's sister and I like to stir our hot drinks with milk power. Fresh cow milk from the farm is available in the morning at several coffee shops nearby. It's quite convenient for us to take fresh milk from there whenever we wish to.
In the earlier days the bottle of fresh cow milk was delivered to us in the doorway every morning. We usually boiled the milk and kept it in the fridge so we could have it at anytime. Nowadays we don't take the trouble to keep fresh milk in the fridge as we can get it from the nearby coffee shops.

Thanks for the comment ladym33, besides we can get fresh milk easily, it’s also quite convenient for us to get fresh fish, meat and vegetable in the nearby wet market here. My husband does the shopping every morning after having his strolling at the neighborhood. This is the convenience living in a small town. But it’s rather sad that the network connection here is extremely weak very often.

Me and my two kids are on WIC right now, and we have like 13 gallons a month. Sometimes it's a trial to get through all of them before the month is up. At times, we have to divide up the gallons amongst us and my mom just so it won't go bad.

with 8 of us living in this house we go through a LOT of milk. I try to buy other dairy products such as cottage cheese and yogurt. We need to be like you and buy 4 gallons at a time, especially since my van is down.

My family is like yours we go through a lot of milk. Everytime my wife leaves and comes home she is carrying a gallon of milk. My wife is constantly buying more milk so I am not really sure how much we have at once, but we must go through a lot becuase I see her buying it a lot, and the fridge is not full of milk so it must all be getting drunk. I think I heard her say we go through about a gallon a day.

Sounds like you need to purchase a cow and teach them how to milk it. We go through a gallon a week. Mooooooo

I try to keep two gallons of milk in the fridge at all times. We go through about three gallons a week. We probably drink about 1/2 gallon a day. I always make sure we all get at least 1 glass of milk a day. Usually, it's a lot more than that, though. The high milk prices weren't very fun! They seem to have gone back down lately.

My family barely drinks milk unless its with certain meals or with coffee. My mom just never really cared for drinking it alot. I was lactose intolerant for a few years, and although I grew out of it, Im just in the habit of not drinking it that much so if I do its random or rare. As for my dad, he grew into lactose intolerance when I grew out of it so he avoids it as much as possible. So usually the milk ends up going bad before anyone finishes it. I only drink it with certain meals, such as spaghetti or something.

My daughter is on the WIC program so we get 1 gallon a week. Since I'm lactose intollerant, I really need to be creative in finding different ways to use milk just to keep it from going bad.
I love it when her friend comes over to spend the night, she's a big milk drinker (she's a fat little 2 year old!).
