To women: Are you comfortable with high heeled shoes?

high heeled shoes - It's very painful using high heeled shoes specially when you stand for long hours.

I like to wear high heeled shoes because it looks better with work outfits, but since I stand for hours during lectures, it's very painful in the legs and feet specially if closed. I bring with me flat sandals so that I could relax my legs and feet during break time. How about you, do you like wearing high heeled shoes? Are you comfortable with them? Thanks for responding and good day!

When I was young that's all I wore I think. I'm only 5'2" and can use the height. I even used to waitress in high shoes, platforms rather than spikes, when I worked the night shift! It never bothered me back then. Now, it's flats or wedges 99% of the time. Yep, really hard on the legs and knees too!

I'm 5'2" also and I need an inch or two to add to the height. I wanted to wear flat shoes, but it won't look good with the uniforms.

I love it only when I am going out to dine in an fancy restaraunt. I wear them when I am going to church. I also like to wear them when I am in the mood for romance. Sometimes, my feet get so tired at church, that I want to take my shoes off.

The first thing i cant even walk in high heeled shoes, i cant even stand up in them. wow you talk in those things that has to be hard. what you need to do is take a little bottle of water put it in the freezer and wait till it freez and roll your foot back and forth on it, this always helps me. you can even use a bottle that does not bend and put hot water in it and do the same thing. do your thing, strut your stuff for all the world to see do it for all the woman in the world

I can't stand them! Don't get me wrong I think they are beautiful but they just kill my feet too much! I am much more comfortable in a pair of beautiful ballet flats. Which is awesome because lately I have seen so many different styles of ballet flats! I do have a few pairs of high heels but I rarely wear them and only do if I know I wont be walking much. I have to admit that I am TERRIBLE at walking in them!

I look really good in heels but I need to make sure I don't have to walk too far! They're great with suits and dresses and high heel boots are good with pants. Sometimes I wear my running shoes to my destination since I usually walk a lot. I live in a large city and also don't want to ruin the heels walking on the sidewalk too much. So even though heels (no higher than 2 1/2" - 3" for me!) look good, they tend to be a little too "high maintenance" at times!

I try not wear high heels at all. I refuse to ruin my health and back for the sake of looking good. It's stupid.

I like wearing heels a lot when I go out but when I'm going to work, I trade them for a pair of flats. I always keep a pair of flats in my car for work or if my feet start getting tired. Hugs, Tianna

Glad that I am not a woman but to my wife I always seen her with her High hell shoes for she said she is very comfortable in wearing those kinds of shoes and I do have a doubt on her so I test her during the time that she is pregnant and I really seen her so clumpsy that she will always most of the time feel down either the shoes would go farther than her before her steps....

i always like wearing high heels. i wear them for work because i wear business attire and it works better. besides that, i am very comfortable in high heels, my feet will hurt after standing for so many hours but otherwise im ok. i tried getting Dr. Scholl's insoles for women for high heels, and they make a difference, a little bit more padding which is nice.

Yes im very comfortable with wearing high heeled shoes and high heeled sandals too.Eversince started working ,it makes me feel comfortable and presentable if i dont wear flat considering also that im not so tall. So whenever i wear high shoes it makes me feel confident walking and im not shy about it. But i think its just normal for girls to do that. There are some girls who hate to wear high heels coz it makes their legs painful and get tired easily while standing and walking.

I am not a woman so why on Earth am I responding? I hear you ask, well its just to boast that my Granny, my Mother's Mother used to wear stilletos which I found to be truly amazing. She was a little lady of 5ft.0.ins. in height with an astonishing sense of equilibrium.Apart from adding a good few inches to her height, this very attractive lady was greatly admired and envied by many a young girl and women.I do believe that she was quite comfortable in them. After all she was a young lady of the 1920's, but one who continued to wear these heels well into old age.!!!!LOL!!!!

I like the way they look, but not the way the feel. I do have boots that I wear regularly in colder months that have a heel. I have two other pair but the heel is too high

When I saw this discussion I paused for a moment before considering how I would respond. Am I comfortable with high heeled shoes? My first response is to answer a question with a question. Are any of us really ever truly comfortable high heeled shoes for very long? I think if we are honest we'd probably admit..."NOT!" Having said that I do wear them...on VERY rare occasions. Occasions where I am not walking far and if I am walking anywhere I only wear them if the walking service is flat...and even. I don't mind wearing them if I am not going to be standing for any length of time...so as I said...very rare occasions. The rest of the time...NO! I think high heels are a heal hazard over time. They wreck our feet...and we allow that to happen because we have come to believe that we need them to "look good." I bought into all of that when I modeled and worked in other areas of the fashion industry when I was in my twenties. Once I reached 40 I realized that if I felt good about myself, who I am, what I do and how I live...why should I allow the dictates of some fashion police tell me what I "should" be wearing to look and feel attractive and confident? Once I gave up my "image management" ideals and started to focus on feeling confident "from the inside out" my views of fashion changed. I now make the care and concern for my health and well being a priority... what a relief it is. I wear sneaks a lot of the time and my feet and the rest of my body thank me for it. When I think how much discomfort I went through teeter-tottering along in my 4 inch stilettos, standing for long hours to prove something to someone else I inwardly smile at the silliness of it all (from my perspective.) Please accept this is not as a judgment call of others...just a response to your question. Thanks for allowing me to share my views with you. High heeled shoes are something near and dear to a lot of women's hearts. Been there and done that so I can relate! Cheers, Raia

No, not really. For one, I am 5'9" tall. I don't need to add height. For two, I wear a size 11 shoe. Any high heel I have found in my size is the width of a childs foot. Who has feet that skinny? I mean seriously... For three, they hurt my feet badly because of my eczema on my soles of my feet, my toes go numb and it kills my knees and back.

My high heels are exclusive for special functions only LOL I really can't stand wearing them for long periods of time. I used to try them on a night out with friends. It just kind of ruined the night for me because in just a few hours I was complaining about my feet and wanted to go home. Now, whenever I go out, I'm sticking to flat, or low-heeled sandals.
