Torrents are becoming the part of internet usage. It is to be discussed that whether these torrents programs are actual threat to the computers. Actually we dont know which all the files are getting shared or what all the contents like cookies they are accessing... So it is better to be discussed the after effects of torrents

Well torrent download files are very useful because you can download movies, installers and etc for free. But sometimes files you have download are having virus or spywares. I have experienced that problem and it always made me reformat and reinstall my Microsoft windows xp sp3. It din not encourage me to stop using torrent. Later on I have discover to kill it and manage to restore the system without reinstalling and system restore. If you're using torrent you should have a reliable antivirus so can block spywares that are trying to connect in the internet. See this link: http://justin-computerstuffs.blogspot.com/

Torrents are a great way for sharing files. I still remember when I heard about torrents the first time. I had no idea as to what a torrent is or how it works but I fell in love with them. (not literary) Also they are not doing any harm to the media industry if yo are concerned about piracy. Its the people that use the torrents to share those pirated files. But than... I don't want to defend the piracy but all those companies complaining about losing profits due to their products being pirated on the internet using torrents are simply money hungry. They already make a lot of money but they simply can't live with the fact that they lose just a tiny percentage of their income due to the torrent users. In short: Companies are making enough money with or without those torrents.

I do download torrents. But i see what are the files in it first. I do not risk downloading files with rar or zip formats, because that might include a virus bundled in it.

I don't use torrents, and I probably never will. I don't download movies, songs, etc. (regardless of whether 1 person or 1 million people pirate, it's still illegal. Would you like someone stealing something of yours? Let's say you won the lottery. Can they steal your TV? "Oh, they're rich, they can buy another TV, they have the money.") I feel that the risk is too high for viruses, spyware, etc. just to get my downloads a little faster. I'll stick with regular, plain downloading from the website for now.

I'm a torrent addict and I usually get my movies, tv series, games, and some e-books. So far I got no problem with it. There is one thing wrong with the movie section. There are some fake movie file being uploaded specially if it's new. Anyway it's not a threat. Just load your computer with your reliable anti-virus. I use utorrent software and it's hard kickin buffalo.
