Totakeke423 Yes, you can run an OS off of a flash drive (Particularly Linux. Windows is a different can of worms, though). While you can do it, it isn't recommended, because flash drives have limited read/write cycles. tmp files and swap files (particularly on Linux, as...

Totakeke423 I like Kaspersky. I'm using the Internet version, which includes antivirus and a firewall, and it's the best antivirus I've ever used. It doesn't hog resources (which is good because I'm a gamer), has a slick, clean interface, gives you a lot of control, and...

Can you live with computers without Windows?

wrangel15 @wrangel15 (1443) • Philippines 13 Nov 08

I believe many of us are still using Windows as Operating System (OS). Or maybe, are used to Windows and are now using other OS. Windows is really user-friendly and many people prefer to use it. Are you also used to Windows?

Totakeke423 I'm used to Windows, but personally, I hate it. I think it is one of the worst operating systems ever created. Here's why. First, I'm sick of restarting. Every time something updates, every time I install something, or every time something freezes for no...

Totakeke423 Usually when I put my computer on I'm just getting home. So I turn mine on right as I get inside, and then I usually do stuff I'd normally do when getting home, such as putting my coat away (at least in winter), grabbing a soda, checking the answering machine,...

Totakeke423 I disagree (well, a little). If you have a Windows box, antivirus is absolutely essential; there's no doubting it. Even though "working clean" is the best way to prevent getting a virus, there are always ways you can get one, such as from a website that got...

I know this isn't a hot topic right now (politically), but I think it's still important, and it's about the US becoming a metric country. I just want to know, what do you think? Is there anyone out there who agrees with me?...

Totakeke423 I always get my computer parts from newegg.com. I don't think they ship outside of the US. Luckily, though, they also have a website called newegg.ca. Their shipping is quick and reliable, their RMA policy is the best there is, and they're really cheap. I...

Totakeke423 It really depends. I've used both operating systems and they both have their advantages and disadvantages. What people say about Linux is wrong; it is a very user-friendly OS and has a strong community. And since it's all open-source, by the time there's a bug...
