I also love poetry. It is all that you described and more, its my outlet to say whatever I'd like to and write down any thought that comes to mind. When did I fall in love with poetry?? Thinking back I believe it was somewhere between the summer after 5th grade on into 6th grade. I had no clue about it, but I knew it could say whatever I wanted it to, something like a diary. So I started exploring with it, writing any chance I could get and still to this day I love it. Its just something that is with me that won't go anywhere. And since it is so great I am open-minded to all types, anything that can soothe the soul.

To me poetry is a way to keep sane, express emotions, and remember things. I write lots of poetry about activism and politics. I've written poetry seriously since the sixth grade. I don't much like stereotypical poetry most no hearts, flowers, and rainbows for me.

I love poetry. I like to read other people's poems and I also enjoy writing my own. My favourite kinds of poems are new age/inspirational poems, dark poems and funny poems. I wrote my first poem when I was 12 but at that time I didn't like reading other people's poems, I thought it was boring to read poetry. That changed when I got older and now I enjoy reading as well as writing poetry.

I agree with you 100% completely. I also love to live, write, and breathe poetry. And it is truly AMAZING when the words flow from pen to paper. Writing just makes everything better. It is good to be able to express your thoughts and feelings creatively. :)

I have written poetry for many years. The first poem I ever wrote was assigned to me by my English teacher. I complained because I thought it was going to be a drag! What I leared from this experience was that I had a passion for words. I wrote one poem and fell in love with rhyme, sentence flow, and words. I have wrote poetry ever since. Poetry is something that comes easy for me most times. Poetry allows me to express my feelings, opinions, and views in a creative way. I love the challange of structure and rhyme. Poetry to me is a vent for my feelings. It is a way for me to open up and communicate with the world. This is what poetry is to me.
