The famous letter from Virginia O'Hanlon to the editor of the New York Sun is in my local paper this morning! It was originally printed in 1897. Along with his answer. What a wonderful treat. Hubby and I plan on sharing it with our daughter when she gets home from school. Macys is getting into the act. No surprise there! They took out a full page so kids can write the letters to Santa, go to the store and put them in a drop box addressed to SANTA. Each stamped letter Macys donates a $1 to Make a Wish Foundation up to a million dollars.
Do your kids write letters to Santa? Isn't this a good charitable idea? Hey Hubby found a link for it online too!

That sounds like a good way for Macy's to get together some money for the Make a Wish Foundation. My son has written a few letters to Santa, but he will not be this year. He no longer believes in Santa Clause. My daughter is still to young to understand the whole Christmas thing.

That is great. My daughter used to write a letter to Santa also and he used to write her back also. We have Santa Claus, Indiana, right up the road from here and that is where our letters went and came from.

Sounds like a nice charity program, doesn't it? I think my daughter would enjoy this as a project.
