Do you have an account or have ever played on Second Life? If so, what do you think of it? Is it very addictive? OR Do you know someone who's so involved in Second Life that they've forgotten what the real world's like?

I'd signed up for a Second Life account about a year ago, so that should still be active, but I haven't actually been into SL during '08 thus far..The program is update intensive, with weekly shutdowns for upgrades required to keep current with the "In World" program developments..It certainly can be addictive,as the SL world works in real time, and you're interacting with others in various SL environments you'd be interested in..I think there's something for everyone, with online gaming, socialising,Art,Creativity, virtual businesses,education..I like the "Dilbert" Comic Strip, and one evening,Scott Adams, the creator, was doing an SL Q&A session and I "went along"-I managed to get a question answered, which wasn't easy,as there were so many others there, the SL system was becoming overloaded, and my puter was slowing right down...It was taking up just too much time for Me,though, and as many "players" are in different timezones,it's not always easy keeping up with the contacts you make! I don't know anyone who's so deeply into it it's affecting their FIRST life!

I have a second life account and I love the game at first it was hard for me to get the hang of things because their was just so much stuff to learn about and that's just figuring out how you want ur av to look lol. After a while I figured how the game works and I love it because you can be creative with it there is so much things you can do in the game it sometimes can be overwhelming and some people don't like that, but i for one love games that gives me the freedom to do whatever pop up in my head. I wouldn't say that am addictive because I know when to step away from the game but the game does have a special place in my heart because the game allows the user total freedom I've discovered certain skills i had that was doorment. with that said I believe people with addictive personalities could get addicted to second life or any online game or games period. It's up to the person playing the game to have a grip on reality. But are there people who are so obsessed about the game they forget how real life is like? YES i don't know them personally but I have friends on SL who always tell me how a friend of their's had to leave the game because it was effecting their real life

I have an account on it. That's it. I set one up to see what all the fuss was about and I'm still trying to figure out why it's supposed to be so good. I had a message about something that had supposedly happened to me on it so I went to play just to see what was happening and I couldn't find whatever it was I was looking for. I don't know anyone else who plays on it but I do know people who are so obsessed with other computer games that they seem unable to interact in the real world as if they have to play games to "recharge" or something like they're going to die if they are away from the computer for very long.

I have an account and i absolutely love the game. At first i hated it so much because i just couldnt get the hang of it. Once you get the hang of it you fall in love and get addicted. Its a lot easier if you have someone to help you and walk you through it instead of finding out on your own. I havent played the sims since i started playing second life, and that saying a lot lol

I have an account with second life and well it can kill hours but it isn't all that much better than the real world. You basicly have to be some kind of designer or something in computers. It is really hard to earn any lindens in that game unless you have hours upon hours to donate to it.

I have a Second Life account. As a matter of fact, I just joined last night. I'm still trying to get the hang of things though. So far I've only had real conversations with two people though.

hi dorypanda! first of all i think that life has a second time around but we both have to know that only God decides for us and we both have our life now. we live to deal with pain, deal with failures and finally to become stronger more and more each day. happy mylotting!
