I had dental surgery last week - to remove two tooth roots. I was scared before i went and i was so happy that i was sedated and i don't remember the procedure at all. I have a intense dislike and a bit of a fear of dentists and i must say that this surgery is the first really "good" experience i've had. I didnt leave feeling sick to my stomach about the thought of going again. Do you dislike dentists? Scared of them? ok with them?

No I am not scared of them but I don't like to visit them on a regular basis. I hate the dentist smell and I hate being sedated and my mouth by invaded by all sorts of different tools. © ronaldinu 2008

I am very okay with my dentist and have had him more than 15 years. I like the oral surgeon really well, too.

I am the same like you. I am very scared of the dentist. In fact, the dentist noticed that I was very nervous when I went last 2 months to fill up the holes in my teeth. I always feel as if I would get hurt during the procedure. I always thought there would be an accident and the dentist would be careless and slipped the sharp utensils into my open mouth and injure me seriously. I also thought about it cutting my throat. I usually avoid myself from going to the dentist. I only go if I don't have any other choice.

Thats a scary thought. I just dont deal well with pain. The visit prior to this surgery (actually there was one between) that lead to the surgery was having a tooth extracted...and they broke the tooth off at the root...hence the need for surgery. Needlees to say it didnt freeze well and three hours of pain (as well as pain after the fact) at the dental clinic. I wasnt expecting a good experience this go around.
