Here's yet another shot of my house with the holiday lights on. We got some measurable snow Tuesday all day lkong with some ice, sleet etc as well. I turned the lights on all night long due to it being so pretty and the first nice snowfall here. Well nice to the point as it looks very good with the lights on for the holidays is all. I don't have to shovel though as the ground is still warm enough that it is all melting slowly. The fresh snow makes me feel so good actually. It has pout me into the Christmas Spirit also. I may go out doing some gift buying tonight bven. So does your house etc look like Christmas yet? Are you in the holiday spirit yet? Have you done much shopping for gifts yet? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I'm never in the mood for Christ,as until Christmas eve or until the first snow. I hate snow but I like looking at it. We haven't had any snow here yet so I'm not in the mood yet. I have not shopped yet either. We are pretty broke this year, as are a lot of others, so we are going to be using a few outreach programs to get gifts for our kids this year. I feel bad about it but they are young enough that they won't know the difference.

Don't feel bad doing this. We were on welfare when our kids were small and usede Salvation Army to get a couple gifts for each kid as well as checks for foods from a grocery store for holiday meals. Now we give as much as we can to the red buckets each year as a reminder to us that this organization does a great service to the needy. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

We are on state assistance also and go to food pantries. I always thought when I had kids I'd be able to care for them financially. I was working and making good money but daycare and gas and food are so expensive that I was working just to pay for that. I felt like I had to quit to be home with my kids. I missed the first 1 1/2 years with my oldest daughters life due to working, I don't want to miss any more.

Hey, I thought you waited until after Thanksgiving like I do? Maybe I misunderstood, but I don't put up decorations let alone turn the lights on until after Thanksgiving, but I will look and comment on your picture, because I do like looking at lights.. And I noticed the Santa hat too, you are ready aren't you..???

I gues it is early. But I put the lights up before it gets too cold outside. I hate messing with twisted frozen cords. I had them on for the pretty snow fall. They won't be on every night though I hope. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Wow Christmas is literally over a month away, but I see you doing it up over there. It don't even snow where I'm at and it's still jumping between warm and a little chill on some nights. It's really hard to believe that it's Fall, you know I'll have a hard time believing that Christmas is right around the corner. The only shopping I'm doing is buying my baby toys, clothes and whatever else she needs, but I do that all year around.

Hey grandpa bob! It sure does look like Christmas up in your neck of the woods! You have the perfect house and grounds to have that Christmas postcard look! I told you that with snow your house is postcard perfect. You got a great shot of the snow on the lights! If I lived there I would be standing outside freezing, but staring at those lights for hours! You are right about it being mesmerizing! I love to see how the twinkle with the snow on it! And I love the new Santa hat! Wait till Savanna sees grandpa now! She's going to have the best Christmas ever!

Not really in the mood at the moment. My hubby wants me to work more hours (only working part time now) and I worry about my son and who's going to take care of him afterschool. We shall see! I have done some shopping but have a few more gifts to buy. I better get onto it as I have to send them overseas.

I will look at the photo after I post this. We are warm still but the last two days we have gotten the tooley fog. It is the thick fog that sits on the ground and makes visibility very limited for driving. The last two days the visibility was 0 feet. That is so bad and that is when we usually have a lot of accidents. Yesterday my husband saw a bad accident and by the time he saw it it was to late to stop and to dangerous to turn around and go back. The fog sets in around 4am and stays until 12 noon and sometimes never leaves. It is so cold and depressing when we do not get the sun.

You're getting me inspired to drag out our Christmas stuff this weekend and decorate. I love the holidays and absolutely love a long Christmas. When we were little, my parents used to decorate about 10 days before Christmas. It just seemed like so much work for such a little amount of time to enjoy it. So when I moved out on my own, I made an executive decision to decorate early so I could enjoy the lights and the tree longer. We usually dig our Christmas stuff out around Thanksgiving, but with this year's Turkey Day being the last part of the month, I may dig out my stuff this weekend and begin the decorating process a bit early. It'll be our 5 month old's first Christmas also. She'll be too young to enjoy it, but it's exciting for DH and me to think about her first Christmas. A co-worker does embroidery and is going to embroider a stocking for her with her name on it that matches my DH's and my stocking.

I live in Australia so it's the hottest time of the year now. I'm only comfortable at home with my airconditioner! :P I put all of my christmas prezzies on layby a couple of months ago. That way I can just put money on it every couple of weeks until it's paid off.
