Are black grapes seasonal or more rare?

I was a the grocery store yesterday and bought some black grapes. I have never seen black grapes before, never even heard of them before.. I feel dumb what else am I missing in the food world?...lol

Unless you mean concord grapes perhaps the 'black' is more rare. The concord grape looks black and is a dark, dark purple color. And there is a huge dark colored grape too. This might be what you are talking about. Very sweet flavored.
