If you are new here, is it because you haven't gotten around to it or don't know how? If you are a longtime member, is it because you haven't gotten around to it or haven't found 'the perfect' one? LOL!
It just occurred to me I have had so many friend requests from people lately and they all have those little green squares indicating you have not chosen an avatar. You don't have to post yourself, so no need to be shy!

I am one of those persons "without a pic." It is for NO reason, other than I took up a whole bunch of my son's time, trying to upload, just anything that was depictive of me, my surroundings,. my animals, my garden...AND TO NO AVAIL! He is very computer literate....I am not! Just received my 1st computer as a Xmas gift 2 years ago, from my son! Have seriously tried, so have to be content to live in obscurity! So let your imagination take wings.....! Cheers!

I prefer to have an aviator. I changed mine recently but I resorted back to my original one.

I met you in either the politics or religion interest group and I never would have added you as a friend if I didn't find your views interesting. Perhaps you can find a graphic, even a pattern or something if you don't want it to be personal. Like another poster mentioned, it drives me nuts to see a green stick figure with an exclamation point!

I like the anonymity of not having an avatar, personally. I also think the artistic rendering of the Green Guy is chronically underrated here -- I'm very proud to let him stand for me. Actually, to be honest, I'm really not that visual a person and that's probably one of the big reasons I don't care about avatars too much in general.

Well, that would be fine if I only saw a couple of those, but I see a major ton of these every time I am here at the site. I like for people to take the time to personalize anything that represents them, from choosing an interesting user ID to using an avatar - anything really. Any discussion site is also a social network of sorts and therefore I think it's important to represent yourself, not allow 'default' to win.

. Interesting avatars do not make up for non interesting posts, and people I enjoy are bound to get comments from me even if they have NO avatar lol.
