Do you agree with the idea of cemetery for pets? Or are you totally against it? I am a dog lover. However I am not that type of person who likes to visit cemeteries. I just have pictures of my past dogs fixed in my study. But I do hate going to cemetries (even human ones). Do you think that the idea of having pet cemeteries is abusrd?

Cemeteries are a waste of resources. I enjoy them and I know that people like visiting the place where their loved ones' bones are buried but it's such a waste. We were originally supposed to be buried and our bodies nourish the earth, probably crops for other generations. Pets, the same way. All the pets I've ever had have gotten a kiss and a grave to put their empty body in. They're gone, they've left their husk. So they nourish the soil. The soul is gone, they are in heaven waiting for you, why would someone want to glorify the body of a pet--or a human?

Cemeteries give me the hibby gibbies, So I wouldn't feel comfortable visiting one for a pet. I feel that a nice spot in the back yard would be good enough for a pet that was loved. That way you wouldn't get overwhelmed by the Pet cometary.

pets are like a member of the family and should be buried somewhere so u can visit them on memorial day and put flowers on their graves as well as on their birthdays.

howdy, i think that people should be free to have the choice to honer there pets how they see fit. i personally cremate my dogs, when i was younger our family pet was berried in out back yard, then a few years later we sold and moved into another house, i was devastated we had to leave him behind - years on and i have my own kids now, im renting and i had my last dog Neo cremated so he is with me and my family, my kid still talk to him and his picture is behind his urn. i find it comforting to know that where we go he still goes. i dont think we have a pet cemetery here in OZ but i think that if thats what helps you deal with there passing and gives you peace then its up to you :)

Hi ronaldinu, I don't think the idea of a cemetery for pets is all that ridiculous. We've been including our pets in our burial traditions for thousands of years. The Egyptians used to have their pets, especially the cats, mummified to take with them in the afterlife. Even horses have been found buried in the graves of the ancient warrior-tribes of Europe and Asia. Have a good weekend. Umart

Pet Cemetery - To each His or Her own.
To each his or her own on this one. I love my pets like family but I wouldn't take them to be buried in a pet cemetery. I have pictures of them and I'll usually bury them in the back yard. Back yard is where they liked to play so that is where they lay.

I think it is a great idea for those that can afford to bury their pets like that, I really don't have the money for it.

It is not absurd at all. There are pets that being treated Better than the children in the household.A cemetery is a place to bury the ones we love. So why not pets? There are people who Never have children but they have pets. Would it be absurd for them to bury their pets? Not at all. I don't like cemeteries either. My loved ones are in my heart and I believe that they are with me always, not at the cemetery.

Yup, there's really a cemetry for pets.. It all boils down to how much u love and respect your pets.. For others, they might treat their pets as thier close ones, or even part of the family, they shared a very close bond, and that they wanna remember their pets, so they choose to bury it.. It's all about, love, respect as well as how much of bond is there between the owner and the pet.. Thus, one cant say the idea of havin pet cemeteries is absurb ^_^

Hi ronald, I like the idea there is a cemetry for pets as some owners like to visit there well loved pets memorial...personally I am a dogs lover and have two myself but when they go I would want their ashes in an urn so I can havee them with me at home..to some it may seem morbid but truly I would feel close to them still...littleowl

I'm not against it but I don't do it myself. If I want to visit my pet, I do it in my head by visiting my memories. but if that's important to somebody and it gives them comfort, why not?

I totally go with cemetery according to me when it comes to pets they become a part of family and most importantly they are true friends. They deserve a cemetery why not even more than that, the loss of a pet could rely affect us as like losing out on a very close friend and the impact it makes is gonna travel with us for rest of our life, there may be newer pets coming into our life but any pet which is close to our heart deserves a cemetery!!!!!!!!

I love pets also but I agree I don't like going to cemetaries. I have pictures of past animals. So I look at them to remember them. I am not sure what to think of having pet cemetaries it sounds a little starnge to me.

I think that if people feel the need, it is a good idea. I sort of own one, lol. Since I live on 19 acres of land, the whole family buries their pets. We have a special area where we bury them and I have also made it into a memorial garden in their memory.

I don't like going to cemeteries either, but I think lots of people are comforted knowing where their pets are buried - and they like visiting and 'talking' to the pets. My parents have their lovely cows buried on their property - and several dogs. My own children have buried pet rats and mice in our back garden.

Hi ronaldinu, There are many people who wants a pet cemetry so they can visit their pets to talk to them, but no, I don't like it either, like you I have my late cats photos around my house so I don't need a cemetary. Tamara
