Asherman Syndrome - Missing Monthly Menstral Cycle

I posted a discussion a month or so ago about how I haven't had my menstral period since August 10. I went to the doctor and she sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that I had a cyst on my right ovary about 4cm big. It also showed that I had blood in my uterus so the doctor said that I should be having a cycle.
I had a D & C in June of 2007 and she said that in some cases after a woman has had a D & C they develop what is called Asherman Syndrome. It is characterized by scar tissue in the uterus. In some cases the front and back lining of the uterus become stuck together.
Since I had this D & C she believes that maybe I have Asherman Syndrome. When I visited the doctor on Thursday she did a procedure and got some scar tissue out of my uterus to send off for tests. She said she would call me in about a week to give me the results and diagnose for sure what she thinks is wrong and discuss what to do next.
Have any of you ever had Asherman Syndrome or have you heard about it? What is your knowledge of it, you experiences, etc?

I always thought not having my period would be great. Then when it happened I freaked out and apparently for good reason. But right now I wish I had mine every two weeks :) Happy MyLotting!

I have never heard of this syndrome. Thank you for posting about it though. It is important for us women to share information so we can take better care of ourselves. Please post again when you find out more on this topic.

yes, that is perfect knowledge. actually this is synechiae or adhesions inside the uterus which occurs after excessive dilatation and curretage done for mechanical abortion. the solution to iit is by breaking the adhesions under hysteroscopy. it can be done by any experienced gynaecologist.. about me experiencing, sorry, i am a male... bye and take care.

It isn't due to excessive dilatation and curretage done for mechanical abortion. I've NEVER had an abortion, but I have had a D & C to remove scare tissue. If I have this it is because of the D & C that I had.
