hi kushan, crews of 2 malaysian ships also suffered the same fate in August, they were held hostage for more than a month before the ship owners decided to pay the ransom to have them released. all of us here were worried sick about their safety.. but fortunately, they were all released once the ransom was paid. you can have a look at news release at the following link : http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/10/5/nation/2193492&sec=nation

I did not hear about it but those poor people! How scared they must have been. Thank goodness that they have been released and are home with their families. I hope that the pirates do not get away with it on some legal loophole.

We don't get much news like this in the US, but I also understand that more and more of this is taking place. I think our tourist industry is putting pressure on the government to keep it quite.
