What does your username mean? How did you come up with it?

I am big fan of European Football(Soccer) and especially the German Bundesliga. I like many teams that play in the Bundesliga. My favorite team is FC Bayern München. For those who don't know Bayern = Bavaria and München = Munich. My username is bayernfan and so bayernfan = FC Bayern München + fanatic. What does your username mean? How did you come up with it and why did you choose it? Would you change it now if you could? Do you think that myLot should allow users to change their name if they wanted to?

Does the twenty-four seven indicate that others call you by your nickname all the time or that you are ready, willing, and able to contribute to myLot whenever necessary? :)

My username is very simple. Sac = Sacramento and Mom is because I am a mom. See how simple it is? LOL I came up with it when I saw another person in the area use sac along with another word in their email address. I liked my username well enough when I joined this site. I thought it would be easy enough for people to be able to figure out. This is actually only the second site where I had used this username. But after I saw that some people were getting it wrong I wished I would have used something else! LOL Plus I have seen some very pretty usernames on here. With the first part of my username it sure doesn't sound pretty, does it? LOL If I could, I would definitely change my username, but unfortunately the only way to do that is to close this account and open a new one. I do wish that mylot would allow us to change our username without having to start all over again, but at the same time I am afraid it would only cause confusion for those that know us by our current usernames, so this may not be a good idea...

Actually, that's funny because I did guess that sac meant that you were from Sacramento. Your profile says that you are from the U.S., so it wasn't too much of a leap. I can see how others might abuse your username. ;) With so much of the myLot experience tied to ranking and reputation, it would get very confusing if everyone was changing their names all the time. You could edit one of the photos that you are using for your avatar with mspaint or another picture editor and add SacramentoMom to the top or bottom. Maybe it's not an ideal solution, but food for thought nonetheless. Cheers.

"You could edit one of the photos that you are using for your avatar with mspaint or another picture editor and add SacramentoMom to the top or bottom." I could do that, but where would the fun be if I did that?

Well, my user name in here is Krausehome. That is my last name combined with I also feel at home in here, so hence the name. But I also have used this nick now in a lot of other sites as well. So this is how I am getting known around the Internet world for sure.

It's nice to have a site on line that can feel like home. MyLot seems to be a comfortable place where people can easily get together, interact and share. The more time that I spend on myLot, the more that I become impressed with it's membership. It looks like your last name is of German origin.

hi! red is my favorite color, while amethyst is my birthstone. I have been using this name since I was in High School. I used it first time when we have a monito monita at our classroom. I would not change it. I love the name take care

Sometimes it's good to stick with what works. Perhaps using a username that you are comfortable with and one that people in other settings know you by helps keep one comfortable in a new setting and makes it easier to meet unfamiliar people and contribute to a newly joined community or activity? Thanks for sharing.

My user name is one I made up, I am writing a book, and Celanith is my heroine or one of them. It is an adult fantasy. She is a healer so the name Celanith means healer.

So, you are writing a book. That is quite ambitious. Good for you. Is there any reason why Celanith means healer? I would have come up with something like Relaeh. Relaeh = Healer in reverse. It's more obvious than creative.

well, Diego Maradona is the most perfect player i've ever seen..i mean as a player on the pitch. he seems a little rebellious and crazy off-field though. i reckon he is not deserved a master coach due to his personal character..but his influence of inspriation on all the argentian players to form a force is absolutely unique and unreplaceable...glad to see Diego has many famous assistants with lots of experience to help him..such as Carlos Bilardo who brought argentian a would cup in 1986...

Thanks for sharing kunking. Sergio Aguero is definitely a talented striker and he works well in tandem with Diego Forlan. What do you think of Diego Maradonna coaching Argentina's national squad?

That is indeed an interesting username with a unique reason behind it. For those who don't know: ob·sid·i·an Pronunciation: \?b-'si-de-?n\ Function: noun Etymology: New Latin obsidianus, from Latin obsidianus lapis, false manuscript readingfor obsianus lapis, literally, stone of Obsius, from Obsius, its supposed discoverer. Date: 1796 : a dark natural glass formed by the cooling of molten lava http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/obsidian

my name comes from my general conceitedness. I believe I am a bag of "sweetstuff" and then some and the "82" is the year I was born.

Come on. It's not conceit, it's "self awareness". :)

during one meeting that i attended shortly before signing up here, i asked the person taking the minutes to please send me a copy as soon as she can, because i have a poor memory and any information recorded in my mind can disappear with a quick swipe - just like that magic slate toy. so my choice of username is really a way of laughing at myself. =]

Ahhhhhh, I see. A little self-deprecation can go a long way. That is quite an interesting story/reason to go along with your username. Very original. I remember the "Magic Slate" toy from when I was younger. One type had the slider which ran vertically along the side. Another type erased whenever you lifted the page. Your username story/explanation also reminded me of "Etch-A-Sketch". Perhaps that would be a more suitable username for an forgetful artist/graphic designer???

we only had the lift-the-page type back then. i only saw the slider types maybe a few years ago...and i don't think i've ever seen an etch-a-sketch, but it does sound fitting for forgetful artists. hehe.

I selected my user name a really simple way. I just put my 1st and middle names together and added some letters and came up with this. Also, it seemed appropriate when chatting online or thru text message.
