Another discussion sparked this discussion. I have 2 cats Tony and Gizmo. I just saw that someone had 24 cats! How many pets do you have? What are they dogs or cats or what? How many of each? What's the most that you have ever had? Are they indoor or outdoor pets? Do they all have names? Please share! I love animals and love to read about yours!

I have three dogs. This is the most I've ever had. I had two cats before, though. My dogs go for walks, but they're indoor pets. Yes, they all have names. Vickie, Uma, and Daisy.

24 cats! Wow that is a lot of kitties around the house. I too only have 2 cats and their names are Ming-E and Japonese. They are both about 2 years old and like most cats they are a little crazy! I also have a wonderful dog named Chainey. She is 9 years old and a Border Collie. Without a doubt she is the best dog I have ever had. I never need a leash for her, except for the fact it's a law, and she listens very well. She also learns new things in about one or two attempts. The most pets I've had, was a LOT. I, at one time, had 2 rabbits, 3 ferrets, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a horse. Talk about work. Never again will I own that many animals because they all require lots of attention and with that many there is no way you can give them what they need.

most of them came in as kittens and have never been outside. (Nino, Shooting Star - Star, Taj, Chevron - Ronnie, Gabrielle - Gabby, Gizmo, Ping & Pong, Solo, Rygel, Oliver, Tony, Blossom and Flower Some came in as adults and we have tried to make sure they never go outside again... (Sassy, Chalube, Kit, Rio, Timus, Booboo, Rock Star - Roxy, and Frankenkitty) Now, a few were adults when we got them, but they had been inside cats before they came to us. (Scamp, Tuti, and Nefer) Well, except for our cat porch that is.

The last person I knew with that many cats had a farm for them to roam and most of them lived in the barn with some under the porch. Handy for dealing with rodents though. Lovable little hunters that purr when your around and kill what bugs you.

We have a three year old black cat named Snowball, (my daughters cat actually) and a one year old White German Shepherd named Zoe Roni..(which means "life rejoice") They are both indoor, though sometimes I would love to throw the dog outside forever.. They are a handful, and act like siblings sometimes. For instance, one time Snowball will start it by running up to Zoe and smacking her, causing the dog to chase her.. Then another time Zoe will start chasing the cat just messing with her..So I feel like I have children and not pets sometimes, because I have to yell at them to stop..

I have 2 Black Labs. The male is Tobi & the female is Taylor. Both are sweethearts & love each other!!! Both are very even tempered. Yet both are very protective!!! Living alone, I like the protective side of both of them!!! Due to their size, they are banished to the outdoors & love it. Tobi refuses to come inside & has since he was 6 weeks old. I also have 2 male black cats. Romeo is a domestic shorthair & is full of mischief. Kip is a domestic medium hair & he is my sweet baby. He follows me everywhere I go & loves sitting in my lap. Romeo will sit in my lap but he really prefers getting in trouble. They play with each other a lot. Kip is the biggest yet Romeo beats him up most of the time. These 2 furbabies are confined to the house!!!

I got my male from a girl I worked with. Her dog had 10 puppies & my office mate begged so cute. Actually, I told her I wanted the male runt of the litter. Well, that little fella came out sickly & did not make it but for 2 days. So, my guy was next in line. I believe fate brought us together!!! When he was only 6 weeks old, he laid between my feet growling at every noise. My Chiropractor told me about my female. She was about to be euthanized & I could not stand that idea. So, my Chiro said try it, if it don't work, we will just send her back to the pound. My male fell in love with her & she was soooo good for his attitude. I fell in love with her immediately. They spend all day chasing each other & playing tag. It is so much fun to watch them interact!!!

Watching a pair of dogs on protection detail is fascinating. I was alone at my grandfather's house with my sisters 2 big dogs. There was a suspicious noise outside. Before I could get up to investigate "Puppy Chow" the female chow had parked herself in front of me, back to me and only an inch from my tow on full alert. "Bear" the mixed bread male, watched Puppy chow take post and then went off to patrol the house for the source of the noise. He came back a few minutes later and they switched places while she did her patrol. When they were both satisfied there was no danger they went back to their favorite sunny spots to lay down. It was like watching a highly trained military team.

The highest record we had is 4 dogs in my family, Lucky, Happy, Becky and Timtim. They are all mix breed and gets along fairly well. After Happy and Becky left us, we got Waiwai into our family and when Lucky left, Terry join us. So now we have Timtim , Waiwai and Terry. Oh, my sister who moves out also went to get a dog, Cookie and Cookie visits our family every week with my sister. Timtim, Waiwai and Terry are outdoor while cookie is indoor. Timtim used to be indoor too but we have to shift her out after we moved house due to my mom getting older and can't cope with all the cleaning of dog's fur inside the house. During the new house renovation we included 2 very big and spacious dog house to ensure our pets' comfort. Actually I also moved out of my family house and am now having an African Grey parrot as pet. Dog is in the near future plan. ;)

I remember when Tony was missing for awhile. That had to be an awful nightmare. I am a big pet lover. We have a female cat, Cloey, and a male dog, Cody. Both are indoor animals. The cat has never been outside except to go to the vet. The maximum pets we have at one time are two. I've had a dog all my life but the cat is a new experience. Been quite interesting and fun. One of our kids adopted a cat and then a dog when she was living with her sister for a short time. She decided to move home and then move back out again. She moved in with a friend while in college and working and had to leave both the cat and dog here with us. We've had them ever since that time which is now about 11 years later. The cat is always very happy to see me even if my husband is not..lol

Our cat follows me also. She will sit down and give me her paw! She's not a bit sneaky and very human friendly. She greets everyone who comes to the house and alerts me when someone is outside. I enjoy her so much.

I also have two kitties, a black cat named Pyewacket (and inspiration for my user name) and Kissy, a tiger striped cat. I've had cats since I was five years old (now 52)and they've always been indoor cats as I live in an apartment. Yikes, don't ask the most I've ever had...believe me you wouldn't want to know. My mother unfortunately had pet hoarder type personality and twice we were threatened with eviction due to the number of cats we had. At our last court case the stipulation was we could have no more than two cats. I did manage to find places for the extra cats and am in contact with the people who have them..they're doing great..do miss a number of them though. I'm on my own now, as in the middle of the court case (in 2006) my mother passed away

I'm an animal lover too..very much so..but the amount of cats she "collected" was more than some shelters have...yes, THAT many..that's why we were being threatened with eviction.

I have two cats, one is named Gremlin, he's 11 years old and I have a Siamese cat named Loki, he's a year and 3 months old. I have pictures of both of them in my MyLot photo album if you would like to see them. Gremlin is a Blue Russian mix and part Siamese. If I could afford it I would love to have another cat but currently my 2 cats are pigs and eat all the time..LOL.. Loki is spoiled and expects to be held like a baby all the time even though he is HUGE now. I plan on taking new pic of him soon and placing a recent pic of him in my photos. He's beautiful and so is Gremlin.Gremlin is a sweet passive loving cat, his motto is " I'm a lover not a fighter"..LOL.. It's great that you have a Cat named Gizmo . I use to have a cat YEARS ago named Gizmo also(his nickname was Gizzy), he was a black cat. He ran outside one day and never came back home:(..We looked everywhere for him. I think he was stolen because he was really sweet, friendly and pretty.

I have 3 cats. Their pics are on my page. Miss Kitty (mama) Kat, Missy Sissy Kat, Bubba Kat. I just recently gave them the last name Kat. They are manx, no tail. Sissy and Bubba are her now big babies. Bigger than her now. They are inside cats. They are all spoiled rotten. They have a big toy box which they dig into to get toys out. Looks so funny cause all you can see is their butt sticking out the top. Bubba has a thing for troll dolls. He tries to get into the grandkids toy box to get them all out. I gave him a couple but he can never get enough of them. Kitty knows where i keep the catnip and treats so she comes and scratches on the glass door of the book shelf. When the kits hear that they all come running. Bubba has scratched on the door too. Kitty likes to come under the covers at nite for a belly rub. Now they all come under OUR covers of OUR bed. They dont all expect bully rubs just Kitty. When i buy the cats dry food i have to put it away first thing coz if i dont Kitty will tear the new bag open. I have to store it in a large trash can with a lid. She isnt hungry either coz they have a feeder full. Smoetimes she takes the top off and eats from there instead of the bottom where the feeding dish is. We have wild manx running around the neighborhood here. They have little short tails. Fri morning i heard some kittens crying in the window. I caught them. Two little tiny manx kittens. I found them homes already, together. One is cross eyed and the other has some weird eyes too. Pupils are up instaed of in the center. Black one is female and yellow one is male. I gave them the last name Crazyeye. Thats why i desidesd to give my cats a last name. Binks Crazyeye has a couple of dates lined up with Miss Kitty Kat and Missy Sissy Kat next year. Im so glad i caught them. I dont think they would have survived outside the winter. They are not even big enough to have hunting skills. I have a huge cage for cats thats what they are in now. Im taming them and socializing them for their new home. Poor little orphans. Lucky cause they will probably be spoiled rotten by next year. Lol, those eyes. What is up with thoses crazy eyes? Their fur feels dirty too. I just want to take a damp rag and wipe them off. They dont clean themselves and its apparent their mom hasnt for a while either. Im just gald they are going to a good home together.

I just have one dog and he is a handful. Quite frankly I am not looking for any more pets. One best friend is good enough for me. I do not want to make him feel unwanted in any way. I only help out occasionally with a stray animal society from time to time. That is where i got my dog.:)

Hi Louise, Hi Louise, I haven't 24 cats but I do have two cats Wilfred and Sybil, one dog Ziggy, two rabbits, Sweetheart and Nike, five fish, Bib and Bob the Borneos and four stick insects and Boris the spider who lives in the corner of the kitchen and keeps the flies away (not a real pet but I can't bear to get rid of him). That is a fair few. The most cats I ever had at one time was four and probably would have had more if I had had the space and the money for the vet and insurance. Wilfred is my baby though, I know I shouldn't have favourites but he is such a handsome boy and affectionate only to me whereas Sybil is anyones cat as long as she gets a fuss LOL. Huggles. Ellie :D

At the moment we have two cats Kovue and Storm one dog Finnegan and a hamster. Storm is an outdoor cat but in the last few weeks we have seen alot of her i think the dreadful weather encourages her to come home more. Kovue loves to be indoors but does also enjoy lying outside in the sun(when we get some). Finnegan is a very lively dog he is a border collie and loves everyone. He is very special to me as my partner brought him for me for my birthday, the first birthday we had together. At one time we did have thriteen animals but decided that this was too much for us as i was pregnant at the time so we rehomed most of them.
