Do you still have any of the toys you had when you were a kid?

I still have a few dolls. But the favorite thing that my mom saved for me is my easy bake oven. It is in the original box. It is from the early 70s and my daughter has recently baked a cake or two in it. It actually still has a light bulb in it that came from the years when I used it myself. I took photos of my daughter and I using it! We had a great time! Do you still have any of your childhood toys? Do you know where they are? Do your children or even grandchildren play with them? What do they think of them?

I don't have a very sentimental family so no, I don't have any toys or things from when I was a child. My daughter most likely won't have anything either. Once she grows-out of something, I donate it to a local charity, sell it at a consignment store or give it away to someone who could use it. I believe in recycling. Happy MyLotting!

We do that too. We only save a few of the very special things that were either given as gifts or were something that were of great value to my kids. My mom is more sentimental than I am but she only saved the special things too.

I have no toys which I played in my childhood. It sounds great that your toys in your childhood played by your daugher again. I am moved about the warm scene.

No I don't have toys that I used to have when I was a kid. The only toy that made it was a teddy bear with one eye that is still at my mother's home. I don't know what is the reason for keeping it but she still has it prominently displaced where she can see it almost daily. © ronaldinu 2008

I don't have any of mine, but I am buying either the same or nearest I can get for my grand daughters. I was telling my 8 yo GD about things I did at a local amuzement park - (when I went it wasn't an amuzement park - it was free and just stuff -Knott's Berry Farm)and asking her what she did as she just went to the same amuzement park. She ohhed and ahhhed and laughed nad totally enjoyed my stories so much she sparks up with "I wish I oculd go back in time and do the things you did when you were little! You had the best times!" So if you can't find the toys that made you happy to share with your kids, share your memories about the same places you both have been to - Lot of fun to be had!

Nope I don't have any of my childhood toys whatsoever. I have lots of toys since I've acquired since then though! We were pretty rough on toys when I was growing up!

I am 23 years old and still have a winnie the pooh blanket I got when I was 4. Sad to say I still sleep with it. It is very comforting, thats really the only thing I have left from childhood.

I wish I still had my Easy Bake Oven. I just bought one for my daughter's birthday. I have a couple of board games like Sorry and Monopoly from when I was little. I also have a baby doll carriage that my mother kept and my kids have played with.

I still have my dolls which my mom preserved and display it. She have a cabinet full of dolls including my old dolls and my mom's collection of dolls. Some of the toys my siblings and I had are still alive. And my nephews and nieces plays with it but with a little caution because it's a bit old.

HI Rocket - No I don't have anything from childhood - my mother was a great one for giving away thigs that were not hers! I am havung a big clean out as my little 2 bedroom home is busrting at the seams.Anyway, I cam across my daughter's first soft toy - a pink rabbit - I'm definitely keeping this for her. I think that it is wondeful that your daughter was able to use your toy. Amazing! I believe that children should have memory boxes and have them for my own children. God Bless and have a wonderful day.

Memory boxes are a great idea. I know that so many people are into scrap books but the boxes could include toys and mementos! How many children do you have? Does your daughter live near you? Thanks:) heidi

Memory boxes can also include a favourite toy and a lock of hair, report cards, lots of photos etc or a book which they particularly loved. We have one book in our family that the boys adored when they were little and we can still recite the book from heart! No, my daughter - Rachel-Ann has just completed her Master's in Education in N.C. but she will be home for Christmas. she also just recently became engaged to be married to a young man from our country. I am delighted with her choice as he is from a Christian home ansd has strong moral values. I trust him with her. I think that she will work for two more years in N.C. before returning home. But who knows?

I had lots of toys when I was still a kid. But unfortunately, only one toy is left with me now and I really try to take care of it by keeping it safe and clean at all times. It is a Cabbage Patch doll which my grandmother gave me when I was 6 years old, so I have it for 23 years already. It was a Christmas gift from her when she was still in Canada. My Cabbage Patch is my most favorite doll of all and when I look it, I feel like a child again and I remember the times when I was playing with it. My cousin has a similar doll but hers is gone already. I hope that when I will have my own daughter, she can still play with my doll. It is still intact and I know she will enjoy playing it as much as did. I love that doll very much!

I wish I still have them with me. But after migrating to another country, I cant bring those stuff with me. I gave them to my sister's children and they are still playing with them. My sister has her barbie dolls and some toys our aunt gave us when she was in Iran.

sadly. no. i found that over the years if i saved everything that had sentimental value or otherwise that i would have to have one house to live in and one to store things in. just kidding, really. but seriously, i found that i just do not have the room to hold onto things. i even try to explain that to my 7 year old because he never wants to get rid of anything even if he has not played with it in a year. i just go through his toys when he is in school and throw out anything broken or with missing parts/pieces and he never really even asks for the thing ever again anyway. when it comes to bigger items i simply ask him if he feels it is "babyish" now and sometimes he agrees and we pass it on to his younger cousins. but for me, there are no remnants of my childhood.

I need to "weed out" my daughter's toys like that I think. My son is 14 and we've gone through his already. But my daughter is 10 and is still at the in between stage as far as toys go. Thanks:)

I have a toy dog.It is a dog with long white furs. When I see the dog, I remember a funny bagatelle. When I was a child, I always wanted to have a dog--a pet. I told my father that I'd like to buy a dog and …… maybe he's really busy or he didn't understand my meaning , anyhow I received a toy dog the next day and my father seemend to be very proud.I could say nothing but give him a forced smile……Oh my papa!!

Hello rocketj1 That's a great story. Unfortunately I don't have anything that I had as a child. I used to have this hippo that my mum made but he used to split because my brothers used to fight each other with him. I think my mum got fed up of stuffing him and fixing him and sewing him up and he eventually went to hippo heaven.

I don't have any dolls except the one that I get from getting first place during my kindergarten years. I used to live in hardship and having a toy is very expensive, so I keep that rag doll for a very long time. Before I had the doll, me and my siblings always made up our own games like hop scotch or traditional games like congkak and batu seremban. But still, it was fun.

Nothing. I fondly remember my golliwog (I know you can't say that anymore but that is what it was called) but my mother threw it out. I wish I had some of the cards and comics but they are all gone too. I remember my parents giving away my stamp album, I was pissed about that. If you have keepsakes please do not let your children and grandchildren play with them as they will inevitably wreck them and you have nothing. It is just the way kids are they just do not know any better.
