I was wondering what people's experiences might be with software that generates sewing patterns. I have tried Wild Ginger's Wild Things free download, and have purchased a couple of Leko cd's. One of the Leko cds I bought is for "personal" wear, but because you have limited inputs (full bust, waist and hips only) it only seems to generate a b-cup pattern on the bras. I also have ordered some free online patterns from sewingpatterns.com. I know Wild Ginger has a number of pattern software options, as does Patternmaker. Can anyone provide some input on any of these products? Thanks!

i have tried these patterns before they are rather easy to use and they are pretty quick the only problem is that the fabric does not hold up well the design was already comming off of the t shirt that i put it on after only a few washes i got all of my patterns from off of the computer and ac moores i liked it because it was easy and fast to use but i was disappointed when the pattern started to peel off because i paid good money for them and they are not exactly cheap on my standards

I thinkthe Leko patterns take a lot of fine tuning and alterations. But if you are like me at all, I do tend to make the same basic patterns over and over, with the variety coming in the fabrics, trims ect. If you are going to really get into a lot of different styles I think the more pricey software options would be the thing to do. I did find it quite tedious to match up and tape all the different computer printed pieces into a pattern to use. But as I said, if you are going to use it more than once it would be good. Another thing to consider is if you are making garments for a lot of different sized people. To be able to input the numbers and print it out would save a lot.
