Maggie the counting dog

Dogs are very intelligent. You wouldn't believe what our dog does at times. As far as whether or not they understand here's one for you. I was cooking supper and I guess because it smelled good the dog was almost under foot. Our dog only weighs 4 pounds and I won't tell you what I weigh. Now keep in mine there was three other people here and I looked at the dog and said, "OK honey I'm cooking supper and I don't want to step on you so go tell Dad he loves you." Nobody can say that sentence didn't make sense to our puppy because immediately the dog went to the front room and jumped into my husbands lap and stayed there on the couch with him till he had to come to the table.

Hi lilaclady, I jsust had to watch the rest of the other dogs as well, they are so clever, that little dog that can count is so cute and the other talking dogs are really fasinating, they are like children and yes they are very intellegant. Love them. Tamara

i saw this on Youtube an about year ago. I think it is amazing. Like I say many times, if they know how to talk, we can be shocked how much they can understand.

There is no doubt about the intelligence of dogs... whatever breed they are... they can be more intelligent or talented than humans... i had a chance of working with navy dogs... and i saw that they should really be respected... they get along with people very well... and is loyal to the bone... Even our local dogs... which we call "Askal" or "Asong Kalye" or "Street Dog"... show intelligence beyond those expected of the animal kingdom...

Hi lila! Wow! What an incredible dog! How smart! How does she do that? She can really figure out those math questions! And there were no tricks! She got all of the right. I think you're right! I think she is smarter than me! I'm not even that good in math. I wonder how she learned how to do that. She must have been a math teacher in some other life or something! I am truly amazed!

Thanks for sharing this with us. I think dogs are very clever and smart also. My little guy is very smart too and so is my hamster LOL.

Dogs can be very intelligent if they are send to school.Yes, there is a dog school in my place where they have special training for the dogs. I don't know how they train but upon graduation these dogs can understand command and are obedient, but I don't know if they can count like what you say. But the cost is very expensive to send them for the 5 months course.
