Don't you hate it when more work comes when you're about to go home?

I really hate it when I am about to go home then all of a sudden an office mate would ask you to do something and you can't go home without finishing it. The bad thing is that we are not paid for the extra time we spend after 8 hours of work in a day. I think this is really unfair and I avoid this if possible. So how about you? Have you experienced this?

Definitely I don't like that too. Also, we may have our own plans after work. If we are informed earlier, perhaps we still can make some arrangements. I really hate this kind of last minute work. haha~ Luckily, my boss and colleagues are quite understanding. Our working hours is until 5:30pm. Sometimes, my boss will ask if I'm free at 5:30pm, and I can say NO. There are hardly tasks for me that need to be completed immediately, on that day itself.

All the time! It always happened to me all the time and i really really hate it.. I just couldn't understand them why they will let us do the work when they already knew that its time to go to home.. Most of the I don't have work and i really hate it when someone give me a work when its time to go.. I just couldn't say "no" to them and I really don't know why I can't refused the work that they were given to me.. Sometimes, I get mad at myself since I can't refused them.. Same as you, extra hour of work after 8 hours don't have an extra pay.. And it really irritates me!

Sure, that's quite disgusting. As I don't know how long time I have to stay in the office. Why not they give me the work earlier so that I can finish it before going off work? I love China

My aunt usually does this to me. Like for example when I am about to leave for malling she would ask me last minute errands. I would often tell her why she is doing it as a habit. But since yours is work-related then just tell that there is an important thing you need to attend to, and ask your office mate why she or he is doing that each time you're about to leave.

I have experienced this very often. At times I have had my computer put off and got ready to go and then was given work. Have got used to this now and know it is no use grumbling.

hi! your topic is so timely. It just happened to me yesterday. we usually go home at 6pm, but when its 5pm our boss called my supervisor and asked us to do something, and needs a result immediately. so we need to stay to finish those works. so we go home at 9pm :( really sad. and i hate it. but that's life. hayz
