Gmail or Yahoo - which one is your choice?

At long last I've changed my email address to Gmail specifically for mylot activities. I am not too happy with the services of yahoo as it is very slow and some of my mails have been 'hijacked'. I never got to read some of the discussions mylot send through yahoo. Besides the discussions are delayed by few hours and by the time it reaches my screen the discussions have sort of become 'outdated' Gmail is a better choice if you need speed and efficiency. What email provider are you using now?

I use gmail, because that is what my school uses. I really like the set up as well. Also, gmail is very quick. It is a good thing, because at my work, I need to email back and forth between co-workers sometimes, so it is a good email to use.

Some people still like yahoo as they are used to it and it is quite simple but not until you have tried gmail, I am sure you are going to like it. It is so fast.

I don't really use all the extra facilities in any of my email accounts except for getting my mails and online earnings which I find gmail is much better than yahoo. It will take time to familiarize with a new provider. But if you find more at ease with yahoo then just stick with it.

I'm using Yahoo for almost anything, and I haven't had any experiences of it being delayed. What do you mean by 'hijacked' by the way? Maybe it's just the spam thing, try adding mylot to your contacts and maybe everything will make it to your inbox. I don't have that much experience with GMail, so I'm not familiar, my main Email provider that I use is Yahoo, then MSN or AOL. Happy myLotting! :]

I have been using both yahoo and gmail.Besides these two i also use hotmail. While using i really dont face problems using either. But then a personal choice would be GMAIL any day.Not only does it give a better service it also give better facilities then the others.I also allows you to attach files of bigger size then the others. And yeah talking about speed. It surely is very fast.

Yup everyone seem to have their own choices.According to you and me gmail is fast but for others YAhoo might be.But then why worry and bother.Just be happy with what you do.You made a switch. And you are happy. So dont worry if the others think that the reason for your happiness is right or not.

i did no mistake of changing to gmail then. Everyone seems to prefer gmail over yahoo. It is the speed that gives gmail the advantage.

I have accounts in both and find both of them equally good. However, since I joined yahoo first, my most of the contacts are on this mail id and hence, I use yahoo more than gmail.

Saviour-V teleports in... Got three off the bat. Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail. There's also my office e-mail, but let's leave that out of myLot, shall we? ^_^;; Anyway, all 3 are accessible via the nick of "saviourv", so if you have any offers related to making lots of money, OR if you happen to be a beautiful Chinese / Japanese who lives in Malaysia and happens to be a good cook, e-mail me. Heh heh. Saviour-V grins, as he teleports out...

I've had my yahoo account for a long time so I prefer that. But Gmail has a lot of nice features. I made an account there too just in case I wanted to switch one day.

I am using both Gmail and Yahoo. Yahoo is outdated in its features and user friendliness, but now I have noticed some changes made by yahoo team such as integration of yahoo chat in yahoo mail (As did by Gmail). Some sort of upgradation needed in yahoo so as to overtake the performance and success of Gmail.

Yahoo and gmail are competing against each other but being pioneer yahoo definitely has more subscribers but many are turning to gmail as they have better features and are more efficient.

Yahoo being pioneer in this business are more user friendly. Probably they have improved since the last time I left for gmail. They were quite slow then.

I still do not receive email alerts for some of my friends here. When I check to see if my friends are active when I haven't heard from them, I find that not only are they active but they have been starting new discussions...the alert is turned on but there is nothing in my email. I wonder if the friend has my email alert turned off then that affects mine? Because these friends never respond top my discussions either. Hmmm...thoughts to ponder.

I don't think it happen to you alone. I have noticed that too in my circle of friends. Some of the friends are just fence sitters and never come to my discussions. Even without the email alert they could just check it up in the 'friends started' column and respond if they are co-operative enough. For me I will tackle my friends discussions first before moving on to the other discussions if I can't find something that interest me from their discussions.

i use Gmail for my personal mails and i use yahoo for my paid sites...i like Gmail more than yahoo..yahoo doesn't have a good filter for spammers..some still goes straight to my inbox..while Gmail can detect spams
