Should children carry guns to school???

Children carrying gun to school... - I think it is a horrible idea to teach children to take guns to school. I know I wouldn't want my child pointing a gun at another child nor another child pointing a gun at mine!!!

A group here is pushing to allow children to be able to carry guns to school for protection from the nutz attacking schools. I find this to be a horrible idea. Can you imagine the number of children that would be sent to the hospital with gunshot wounds??? And that will only be from the childish bickering that used to lead to fist fights!!! We've got enough billy bad azzes in our schools without introducing guns to the mix!!! There has to be a better way!!! As it is now, nobody notices when a kid comes on campus with a gun. Can you imagine how much harder it would be to tell if EVERY child was carrying a gun??? What are you thoughts on this plan???

No way they should. I can not understand how they even can get a hand on those items. They should never ever be able to get a hold of them.

What I can't believe is that it's the child's parents thinking up this loony idea!!!

What kind of a group is pushing for that? What town is this? Please let me know so I can be sure never to relocate there! I think its incredible that there are people who think that way. If they are so worried about their kids, perhaps they should have them home schooled to avoid any contact with the so called "nutz". It's a terrible idea and I really hope they don't get it passed. Good luck!

It's the freakin parents. It's a tiny little town at the foot of the mountains in Northern Georgia. Nobody relocates here so you shouldn't have to worry!!!

Oh, and how do we figure out which of those hundreds of kids are the nuts BEFORE they shoot someone? What idiot group is this? I think that they all need to have their head examined! What a bunch of idiots!! OMG!!!! I think you can tell what I think about this convoluted plan.

Are they getting insane? In that case, students tempted to be evil, students ended up killing each other or even the teachers. Oh i can;t imagine what kind of school campus they have, why they don't hired a tons of guards and police for the student protection. It nees authority action. happy posting.

That's the craziest part of the idea. The kids here are pretty mild mannered. There is an occasional bad boy/girl. I don't think there are any gangs. I just think the parents are overreacting!!! Unless they know something that hasn't been released to the public (I doubt that as nobody can keep a secret here).

its really horrible and may i know in which country this is happening , nobody can imgaine such type of scenarion in the present era , but I know that its happening. I think you can do one thing that withoug giving your name or identity you can just forward this news wiht proof to internet and some high level organisations and specially for NGOs and keep mail or contact him through internet or email, I think then there must be taken action by them ....

This is in the US. They are keeping it fairly quiet. The local TV station said they were posting it on their website but it's still NOT there. I don't know who is stopping it from going public. If it goes much further, I will report it myself!!!

Guns in School - Shouldn't be allowed
Oy Vey can see this in my mind. I think if I had a child in this school and it do go that way I would either pull my child out and move to another school or I would be doing some home schooling. Sad to say thinks it is time to put in metal detectors. I really don't know anymore I know I thank God I don't have kids in school today.

That is definitely a very wrong idea at all. If all are allowed that means even the bad ones can carry the weapon also which means he could freely used it too. I really think the one that crafted this idea did not think quite clearly.

Stupid! Ridiculous! Ludicrous! Preposterous! I would rather see teachers carrying tasers or pepper spray and trained in their use. I would rather see kids drilled to know what to do in case of emergency. I would rather see metal detector screens so weapons cannot be brought into the schools. I would rather see armed security guards in the schools. Im glad I don't live in your country.

Fortunately, the whole country doesn't think like this!!! I live in a small Southern redneck town of only 5,000 people. Out of those 5,000, it is the parents of maybe 600 children who are pushing for this. I hope the rest of the town thinks more levelheaded!!! I'm not hearing as much about it now as when I first posted this discussion. I've prayed daily that the proposing parents see the negative of their plan. There are still some talking about it, but not as many as when it first started. But then maybe those who realized I was against the idea decided to just not talk about it with me!!!

You know what just the thought of that scares me and the outcomes of allowing that is just horrible . I cant believe it has come to that not feeling safe in the schools . I dont know what to think really . i dont think a child or teen can possible understand the power they hold with one .

#@$%^&& No. Why would they think such a thing was a good idea. That is the most insane thing for anyone to be rallying for. Kids already do not think of the consequences of their actions already. If they are allowed to bring a deadly weapon to school they will feel as though it is allowed to use them. there would be so much more rampage shootings and violent fights.

OMG that is the stupidest thing I have ever head of. They think there is to many murders in schools now what would happen then? Did you just read about the 8 year old who shot and killed his father and his friend who kept track of his beatings. When it got to be 1000 beatings he was going to kill them. Now the 8 year old is in juvy. How horrible for all involved. Why didn't someone step forward ahead of time? The grandmother is quoted as saying "I am not surprised this happened, the dad was to rough with his son" Now if that is true then why didn't she try to do something? Now that kid's life is ruined.

IGNORANT!!! I would rather go to jail for not allowing my child to go to school then risk their lives sending thenm into that situation. I can't believe people actually think this is a good idea.
