It is accountability. I have heard it about a dozen times in this press conference about the auto bail out. What happened to accountability with the wall street bail outs? Or the bank bail outs? or the mortgage company bail out?
Some accountability would have been nice with those too.
What do you think?

Wow, I wonder how long they had to practice that one in front of a mirror. I'm sure it took a few hours to be able to say it with a straight face or with out choking on the world. Now, if they can just back track and give us back control over our money, un create the "treasury branch" they created and declare the results of the g 20 summit unconstitutional and that we aren't obligated to it, then, disolve the federal reserve, we may be on to something.....yeh yeh yeh, I know, I'm asking alot.

THat is why the press conference was not til the afternoon. They spent the morning practicing how to say it with a straight face. I am sure htey has paramedics on hand for hte early practices for hte people who choked.
What you are asking for is common sense....which our elected officials lack completely.

*gasp* Well didn't they just earn a gold star! Yes they did!
It's not like we haven't been repeating it for years, or anything. Or screaming it at them before the original bailout.
NOW they realize, "ZOMG, we were idiots."
...noooo. Really?
*sighs*

I agree. It is way past time they had some accountability in these bailouts
Too bad they can't go back and add some to the other ones.

LOL! Didn't you hear? They said that they have to go slowly and be more careful because they were rushed with the 700 billion bailout and in essence messed it up! So, you see, it's not their fault. They just didn't know better.
Yet, before that 700 billion, I could have sworn I heard them saying that they have to hash it out to make sure there is some accountability involved, some strings attached. Now they didn't know that before, but they learned their lesson.
Well, I was just happy that they threw us the bone of not voting on it and putting it off til the Big 3 give them more details of their new plan.
Ha! BUT, the Republicans, what few are left there, wanted the plans to go to an agency made up of business experts, to decide if the plan will really work. However, the "leaders", the Dems, decided that Barney Frank and Harry Reid will be the ones to receive the plans and decide if there should be hearings or what should happen next. Oh, yeah, they are real experts all right.

um ya I do think the perviously failures on the ohter bailouts were their fault. They failed to put any string attached and they knew better. They completely dropped the ball and they know it.
They know the public is mad so NOW they are all about the "accountability".

Exactly. Some of them are career politicans. If they are soo slow to learn maybe they should think about another career for all our sakes.
