Oh no,its not at all easy, because its like trying to step back from the present into the past and you wll end up being a misfit.Youth has its own charm attached to it,when a person is physically fit and mentally happy and carefree, with the feeling of having the whole world under the feet. As a person becomes older he or she is bound by responsiblities and experiences and age too takes its toll on a person. Its true that every person tries to hide their real age and want to appear younger...Some people feel they are still young at heart and want to do things that the younger generation does, but its better to age gracefully than to try to appear younger, and in the process become a complete misfit, because there is a certain dignity and grace attached to each age and its best to uphold it,than to tarnish it............

Dear Rose, Bala is right, you surely deserve BR for this wonderful comment which is as clear as mirror.....every thing has its right time.......growing age is looked upon with respect, if nothing else.....so we must try to retain this respect and behave accordingly. Nature is nature.....every flower has to bloom and then dry up to die, but is remembered for its fragrance....we are also part of same nature., our good deeds and good nature will remain in memories of people as they will shed few tears for us..........and I see no harm in respectful end........I am sure Bala agrees..........lets be happy as we are.

I think being yourself is what is satisfying and rewarding. That way one can be as young or old as one wants to be. The funny thing though is that when we are young most look forward to growing up and facing life's experiences and when we grow old we look back to the younger days.

As long as we don't exagerate trying to be young is okay to maintain a youthful attitude.

Trying to be young takes a lot of work. Being young doesn't require hard work. Even if you put hard work into it, you still aren't young, so it is a defeating goal. Eventually, you loose.

That is a good observation. It is a futile attempt which shows on many people who fail to look young in spite of their monstrous efforts.

Of course not because you may be able to deceive everyone by all the modern means of making yourself look young but in the end what matters most is how you feel deep inside. It's good if you still feel as young as you are trying to look but still there is that knowledge that you are not as young as you want to make it appear. You might have the spirit but the flesh could be weak. In short, it might not be as rewarding as the real thing. But isn't that always so? The real thing is always much better than the imitation?

I think that each stage in life comes with its own rewards. Being young is great while you're young, and growing older is great as you're growing older. One must enjoy the stage of life they are currently in. If you spend all your time trying to be older when you're young, and trying to be younger when you're old, you are going to miss out on the moment.

No. No way it can be Bala! Trying to be young is not being so. Something when we try to do against the nature's rule we lose our sanity and instead of feeling satisfying we tend to look older. As for myself, I have always wanted to age gracefully and interestingly I have wanted to look older than I look at some point in life. I wanted to look like my age. I really do not like anyone asking me, which college I went in - it feels that your existence and identity are being questioned!

I can understand that Mimpi. It is bad that your total identity is lost and people are at a loss to behave according to our age.Great response.

I really miss being young sometimes. There is no way that I can act young anymore. I have too many responsibilities. I think it is more fun when you truly are younger.

You are right Stephcjh.(Oops I find it difficult to spell and type. How shall I call you.You can call me Bala.)Coming to the point you are right that people tend to lose the fun of a particular age and period trying hard and concentrating to look young.

I think anyone should not stop keeping him or herself fit and healthy. Being fit and healthy delays the aging process and it indeed satisfying and rewarding. Although we can't avoid to grow old at least our body does not deteriorate immediately. We can always grow old gracefully and healthy if we know how to take care of our body. We can't be forever young in looks but it is always possible to maintain a young heart though.

You are right.Keeping our body fit and health and thinking young are things one must do instead of trying to make up young which may look odd.

Do you mean trying to stay physically young or being young at heart? I think it's important for someone to "act" one's age but never to forget to balance it with both the child and adult in them. One can only be so responsible, wise and mature for so much that we need to let out steam once in a while and act and appreciate the world as we used to once as kids. As for body modification just to stay young, I don't know.

I meant trying to be young at looks missing best part and responsibility of the present.

In my opinion, I don't think I would want needles near my body just to look "younger".
