Common Names

If you have a common name and you intend for people to find you on social network sites, would you put a photo on or at least some recognisable information?
I mean, if you don't know that someone might share your name then that's one thing but if you are called, for example, "John Smith" you would surely realise that in order for people to find the right person, you would need to give some other clues. I noticed looking for a person with a common name that there were over 500 results and only around 30 had photos with the majority also being "closed" so if there was no photo, you wuld have no way of knowing whether you had got the right person.
So, if you do have an obviously common name and go on such websites, do you make it easy for friends to find you or leave it to guess? If you don't have a common name then would you do such things if you did?
Have you had this trouble looking for old friends with common names?

They should put some clue,a photo would be best if they haven't changed much, but even if it's just a middle name, but that's only helpful if you know it, I have looked for people with common names, found too many results and tried to remember their friends who didn't have such common names and checked their friends list for who I'm looking for.
Some people might be new to Facebook though and haven't quite worked out how to upload a photo or add information.

I don't have a common name (as I'm sure you'll know by now), but even so, I make sure people can recognise me, I've got my own photo on MyFace or whatever it's called and on most sites where it's not that personal, I have my 'Dory' picture, so everyone will know it's me. It is really annoying when you're trying to find someone with a common name and there's too many of them to hunt through. Everyone should put a picture or some other trademark thingy on their profiles so as we know who they are.
