He Broke my new glasses before I owned them

Okay I got the call as my wife, and my daughter and grandkids were on our way out to shop/eat, that my new glasses were in. So we left to get them, then go eat after that. Now as the man went to shape the ear pieces for a good snug fit on my face he forgot to place them in the hot sand. In the process of bending them, SNAP!, he snapped the steel ear end. It was broken and they had no other frames in stock like these either. So he shrunk wrap it for the time being as I wait for a new pair. This is me in my new glasses. They are a black frame and a larger frame than the previous ones. Have you ever had the people at the styore break your new glasses before you actually owned them?

Those are very nice glasses, though I'm not sure I like the new shape with your face. They do make you look younger, though!
Have you heard of Zenni Optical? Most glasses can be bought for between $8-20 with frames. The downside is that they're made in communist China, the upside is that they are good quality and most people don't have any complaints. There are a few that complain of too long a delivery time but it's always nice to have a couple cheap pairs of prescription glasses handy if something happens! Go read about Zenni at Clark Howard's site (clarkhoward dot com), look up the name and see what people say.
That site is a wonderful place to "spend less, save more and avoid getting ripped off". That's Clark's motto. He's rich, because he's been frugal and sensible. I love that guy!
I'll get used to your glasses. But it's hard to think of you as "Grandpa" when you've taken ten years off your face!

I used to wear this shape/style of glasses years ago.
I may have to check this Zenni coapnay out.
I've also always loved Clark Howard as well.
Well still call me Grandpa Bob trhough even with the new look.

No....but when I was little I got a new pair of glasses....I shared a room with my sister and I wanted to make sure they didn't get broke. I was so excited to wear them to school the next day. I put them under my bed so they wouldn't get broken. When I got up the next morning part of a blanket was under the bed and when I pulled on the blanket....it pulled my new glasses from out under the bed and I stepped on them and smashed them! I was not the only one who was upset!

The eye doctor I go to, his receptionist is really good, in fact she more or less runs the place except for testing the eyes and I never had any problem with her shaping my glasses..

Good grief now that I'm done laughing I can answer this. Why I don't know because I have never met you, but I can see the look of "OMG MY GLASSES" all I could do is laugh. I'm sorry. Good it happened there because now if something additional goes wrong you can refresh his memory. They look good otherwise.

He came back saying, "I have a little bad news. I broke them....."
I started to laugh as I knew I was going to get them one way or another as it was their fault etc. Oh I told him he won't live it down each time I show up there.

this happened to my mom around maybe four years ago. she has diabetes that makes her eyes needs eye glasses. well that was what some of her doctors said. she has three choices of frame but her very favorite was broken also. the staff was bending it not at the ear part but at the middle part. my mom was not glad of course on what the staff and she ended up geting something she like but she like the style of the broken one.

Those glasses look good on you Grandpa Bob, I hope you get your new frames in soon. I know what its like to have to wear broken glasses, I've never had people at the eyeglass store break them before, but I've broken plenty of glasses by myself, and I hated having to go without them or having to wear an old pair, I was always very accident prone..lol.

With the Holiday so close it may take a bit longer though.
Their shops as well as the labs are closed Thursday and Friday this week.
But I look and feel younger in these right now.
I've worn glasses with tape and band-aids holding them together in the past.

No, but I wonder if they will come out of his pay for not doing it right. Well, I hope you get your glasses soon and this time I hope he does it the right way so you won't have to wait again on another pair.

No they won't make him pay.
I am sure this happens often though as they deal with so many glasses daily.
No problem as I stated, it was funny actually.

Hello Grandpa Bob. I am so sorry that your glasses got broken before you could wear it. But it is ok since he offers you a new pair. You look cool in the new pair of glasses anyway. Good day to you, Bob.

Well I'm sure they'll be replacing them for free, won't they? Since it was there error.
I've never had anyone else break my glasses except for my kids. I haven't owned glasses in years, but I need to get a pair.

Hey Grandpa Bob! Wow! That sure was a stupid mistake he made!
You didn't even get them out of the store! They look nice
on you! I forgot what the other ones looked like already!
I hope it won't take him long to get your new frames again!
And I sure hope these stay together until then! Nope, never
had that happen to me!
