Last night my daughter in law and granddaughter came over to work on some Christmas projects. My daughter in law brought with a kit for making a gingerbread house as "in her whole life" she has never gotten to make a gingerbread house. I didn't help as it was a special project for the two of them..and I made dinner and watched while they put it together. Have you ever made a gingerbread house for Christmas? Would you like to? I think it turned out very cute!

My daughter and I have made one several times the last few years. This year she is working longer hours, so likely won't have the time. It was always fun and will miss doing it.

The gingerbread house is so neat looking. I've personally never made one at home but did help with one when our kids were in scouts. It was fun to do but rather messy. I can remember years ago my father use to love gingerbread. My mom would make it and only Dad and I loved it. Loaded it with whipped cream and I'd usually eat more than one piece. Is also good to eat for breakfast with a cup of good coffee.

A couple of years I came across a gingerbread house making kit. I couldn't resist buying it, because ever since I was a little child I wanted to make one. I'd see gingerbead houses in Christmas cartoon specials, or on holiday cooking shows and really want one. It's fun to make, and it is way to cute to eat. I always have to let someone else eat it.

Jill, I have ALWAYS wanted to put one of those gingerbread houses together, no kidding! Every year I see those kits and think about getting one. That is so cool that they did it together. I bet you had a great time watching them while you were cooking. How fun.

There were a few gumdrops missing by the time it was finished...but Ali is only three and she was having so much fun! It's still cute though....they are quite simple to make however they did have to use some extra frosting and luckily I had some on hand.

Wow Jill, do you know the last time I saw one of them was when I was about 8 years old, my Granny made it and I have never seen once since, not even in the Shops
I would have loved to have got one for my Children when they where little but could never find one.

I only wish I could do crafts. I've never done any. You really do a fabulous job on what I've seen. You are indeed very talented.
