Could someone please tell me more about feng shui?

I have a project to do for my last school year and i decided to make an interior design for a living room and I would like to use some concepts of feng shui. I've searched the net 'till my mouse exploded still i fount only vag information. Could someone give me more data about feng shui? I also need to know the energy map of the living room (like the corner of family and fame or so) because I want to use some chinese symbols and I really need to know the best place to place them. And I need the effects of colors upon the energy and people. Thank you for your help!
