After an accident tonight the Police Officer approached me asking me for my driverls license and proof of insurance. I handed them both to him so he could file a report that I'll need for a claim. ANyhow a few minutes later the Officer returns smiling and giggling. He hands me my imnsurance card back asking me, "Do you have auto insurance? This is your health insurance card." Gawd I felt like a real idiot at that time but laughed along with him,. It was proof of insurance after all. SO have you given the wrong cards when asked for insurance cards etc? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Ok Grandpa Bob! Did you really do that or is this just a trick to get up in the idiot rankings? If you really did that then you may just be ready for that crown! You gave him your health insurance card and he was laughing! Yup! You are an idiot! Nice going! You're lucky you got a cop with a good sense of humor! Silly Grandpa! Did you tell that one to Minnie yet?

Nope this actually happened tonight. It's here, as that woman was an idiot. Haven't talked to Minnie. She was in bed more than likely when the accident happened. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yikes! it is getting to be that time of year again where everyone has to drive cautiously and take their time. We had a bus wreck yesterday morning where I live the roads are slick with a few ice patches lucky it happened before any kids were on it. Well it seems your brain connected with the wrong insurance card. And since it was after an accident you have the right to be befuddled. But having a good laugh also helped some probably in a tense moment.

I bet you were nervous, I can understand how that can happen, but it's cute that he was smiling when he asked for the right card. I did give the wrong savings card to the wrong store. I gave a Dominicks card when I was shopping at Jewel. I felt like an idiot then too when they said, do you know what store your in?

Hello Grandpa Bob. Smiling. Now I see why the officer smiles and giggles. hehe. I think that it is out of your unhappiness for the accident that you gave the officer a wrong proof of insurance because you know when we are not happy with something, we will usually do something that is not right. Good luck to you to get your claim a success.

Lol.that made me laugh. But I can say is yes! I have handed someone a wrong insuranxce card before. But never a police officer. At least not yet. Question, why did you need to file a claim? Was you in an accident or something?

I am an idiot too, ha ha. I have found myself trying to pay for something with the Australian equivalent of a social security card and wondered why the swipe and pin wouldn't work. Ya get that.

You're really trying for that number one spot, aren't you? To answer your question, I did once give the wrong reward card at a store... a slight short circuit in my wiring... couldn't understand why the clerk wouldn't stamp it...

I can't say I have ever done that before. You should get bonus points for that one! I am glad the police officer had a sense of humor about it. He could have easily have been a jerk to you about it.

I have never did that before but I do have those moments. And you have given me an idea next time I am stopped and asked for proof of insurance, I am going to try and pull that one off and see where it will get me. insurance is insurance. I hope I get a laugh out of the officer. If not oh well.

I do stupid things like this too. Well he did ask you for insurance didnt he. This was funny Bob. No your no idiot. At least he seen the funny side to this too. I would be nervous around the law myself, so goodness knows what I would of given him. I told my daughter once to pull her socks up and she bent down and pulled them up. It runs in my family this. I am glad he did not get mad with you and thought you where messing him around though.

I don't think I've ever done that... I keep my auto insurance card right beside my registration info in my car. That would be too funny though!!!

In all fairness he did not say "proof of auto insurance" did he. I can see me saying doing something like that or dumping everything out of my purse while looking for my insurance.

After an accident who can blame you for being shook up. Right now at this time of year I am carrying last year's card and next year's card. They both look alike so it's even more confusing. Easily confused.
